They never learned his name.
He was the only one in the building who saw what they did.
The hard part of telling the truth isn't saying what happened — it's not adding to it when the person deserves worse.

The Qur'an is a healing.
Not just for the scholar. Not just for the one who already prays.
"O mankind" — that means everybody.
And it's been sitting on your shelf the whole time.
Alhamdulillah ☝️

The answer is Zayd ibn Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him) — Surah al-Ahzab, 33:37. The only companion of the Prophet ﷺ named anywhere in the Qur'an. Not Abu Bakr. Not Umar. Not Uthman. Not Ali. Not Bilal.
And of all the people it could have been, look at who he was.
He was taken as a boy of around eight, snatched by raiders while he was visiting his mother's family, and sold as a slave at the market of Ukaz. He was bought, passed on, and ended up in the household of Khadijah (ra), who gave him to the Prophet ﷺ.
Years later his father and uncle finally tracked him down. They came to Makkah with the ransom to buy their son back. The Prophet ﷺ didn't take the money, and he didn't decide for him either. He gave Zayd a free choice: go home with your father, or stay.
He chose to stay.
The Prophet ﷺ took him to the Ka'bah and declared him his son and his heir in front of everyone, and from that day he was known as Zayd ibn Muhammad — until 33:5 returned people to their fathers' names, and he became Zayd ibn Harithah again.
The Prophet ﷺ called him al-Hibb: the beloved. He led seven expeditions, and died at Mu'tah still holding the standard.
A boy sold at a slave market is the one name Allah recorded in His Book.
If you guessed it, well done — most people don't. If you didn't, now you'll never forget it.
