Alabama passed a law, 138 votes to nothing, that makes every phone user in the state prove their age before downloading a single app.
A 45-year-old who wants a news app has to hand ID to Google first. Existing accounts get no pass either. Every one of them must be verified by October 2027.
Teenagers will need a parent’s sign-off to install Wikipedia, Duolingo or a Bible app, and kids without a parent to ask get locked out completely.
Apple, Google and Amazon’s lobby group has now sued to block it on First Amendment grounds.

how to unshadowban your x account
the play: open your report > find the labeled posts > act only on what x says

- go to: xitter.gq/i/jf/under_the_hood
- need 1 year age & 10+ posts previous month
- no premium needed. x opened it to all accounts that meet those two rules
- top of the page: posts in period, period, report generated
> how to read it
- post labels = labels on your posts at any point in the period
- account labels = labels on your whole account, counted in days
- each label shows "x of y posts · %", what it means, and the effect on visibility
- open the list to see each labeled post with its date (utc)

- spam_high_recall: hidden from recommendations to non followers
- spam: post not shown on x
- nsfw_high_recall: hidden from non follower recs, underage and logged out users
- fosnr_abuse / fosnr_hateful_conduct: reach limited to your profile, with a visible label

- one full month, in utc. right now that's september (sep 1 - sep 30)
- x's open source code waits ~10 days after a month ends, so october lands around nov 10

- labels: x says "if the post still has this label, you can appeal from the post"
- bounce: follow the email x sent when it acted
- withheld in a country: x says appeal by replying to that email
- spam / nsfw recall labels: no appeal route in the report. x doesn't say more
- find what post got the label with grok
- stop posting anything like those

- it looks back a month. it's not a live check
- x calls the report "best effort"
- no labels doesn't mean full reach. it shows labels, not ranking

check it every month around the 10th, before you change how you post

22歳の頃、すでに連載は三度打ち切りとなっていた。
担当編集者は「ラストチャンスだぞ」と励ましてくれて、そのつもりでネームを書き連載会議に提出し続けて一年ほどが経った。
その日会議の結果を待ち廊下に面した曇りガラスの向こうで過ごしていると会議終わりの編集者がぞろぞろと歩いてくる。
「森川ジョージという名前を見るだけで読む気なくなるよ」とハッキリと聞こえてきた。
残念そうにネームを返却する担当と会話を交わすことなくそのまま講談社別館に行き60ページを頭から書き直した。
先ほどの声が耳から離れない。
三度失敗したらそういう評価は当然だろうと思う。
ラストチャンスと奮い立たせてきたもののそれはもう使い果たしていたことを痛感した。
悔しさよりも悲しさが上回った。
憧れのあの人のいる雑誌から離れるという選択肢を迫られていることが悲しかった。
あの人の隣に並びたいのに自分にはあまりにも力が足りなかった。
もう記憶が曖昧だがおそらくこの時僕は泣いていた。
描いても描いても受け入れてもらえずついには会議でネームすら無視される。
連載を続けたかった。
漫画が上手くなりたかった。
でもあまりにも力が足りない。
どうしていいかわからない。
ずっと頭の中であの人に問いかけていた。
『漫画上手いって一体どんな気持ちですか？』
『漫画上手いって…』
答えてくれる人はいないけれどずっと問いかけた。
もはや考えているのはネームではなくそれだけ。
考えられないからそれをそのまま書いた。
『強いって一体どんな気持ちですか？』
もう何も出てこない。
これでダメなら漫画家をやめよう。
そう決心してネームを再提出した。
そして連載が決定した。
「はじめの一歩」はあの人へ問いかけで始まって、今も問いかけながら続けている。
いつか実際に聞いてみたかったが少し仲良くなってしまって照れくさくて口に出せなかった。
機会はたくさんあったのに。
はじめの一歩は僕の漫画家としての第一歩であり、あの人との悠久の会話の始まりだった。
もう答えてくれる人はいないけれど、これからもずっと問いかけていく。
『ちばさん、漫画上手いって一体どんな気持ちですか？』
