🌧️ SUNDAY LOOKS LIKE OUR WETTEST DAY! We have two storm systems heading our way, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible across southern Utah on Friday. Saturday should bring a little break before a much stronger system moves in Sunday. Sunday is shaping up to be the main event. A Pacific storm will merge with the remnants of a tropical system, bringing widespread rain to Utah and SW Wyoming. Some areas could pick up heavy rainfall, and with soils already saturated across southern Utah, additional rain could increase the risk of flooding. The latest model guidance is showing some impressive rainfall totals. These amounts are still subject to change, but this is a system worth watching closely. ❄️ Much colder air arrives behind the storm. Temperatures will run 10-15° below normal early next week, with snow levels dropping to around 6,500 feet by Monday morning. I’ll keep you updated as we get closer to the weekend. Sunday looks to be the day to watch! 🌧️

It took about five seconds after the Supreme Court lifted the federal sports betting ban for the leagues to drop their righteous indignation and start coming up with ways to popularize gambling so they could profit from it.

Fun fact: When New Jersey legalized sports betting in 2012, it was the pro leagues—including the NBA—that sued to stop it. Chris Christie told me NBA commissioner David Stern cornered him at an event and shouted at him: "We're going to come after you with everything we've got."
The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more: nytimes.com/athletic/7723134…

We haven't seen chrome on a facemask or logo since 2019. Do you want to see chrome make a comeback to the rotation, or should it stay in the past with pewter? #AggiesAllTheWay | #AggieUniTracker

🎃 HALLOWEEN FORECAST: WILL IT RAIN WHILE YOU’RE TRICK-OR-TREATING? The good news: Halloween looks mostly manageable across Utah, with just a few showers possible on Saturday. 🍬 A weak weather system could bring some spotty precipitation throughout the day, but the main storm system holds off until Sunday. That means most trick-or-treat plans should be in okay shape, although a few neighborhoods could see a passing shower. 🌧️ Sunday is a different story. More widespread rain is expected across Utah as a stronger storm moves in, with the potential for heavy rain and localized flooding. I’ll be watching the timing closely as we get closer to Halloween. For now, the bigger weather impact looks to come Sunday, not Saturday! 🎃 Enjoy Halloween, and keep an eye on the forecast for any last-minute changes!

❄️ A LITTLE SNOW AT BEAVER MOUNTAIN! Beaver Mountain in far northern Utah is waking up to a dusting of snow this morning! 🏔️ A storm clipped northern Utah overnight, bringing 0.25-0.50 inches of rain to parts of Cache Valley, while higher elevations picked up a taste of winter.

Bronco Mendenhall thinks the idea that Michigan Wolverines OC Jason Beck suddenly can’t coach is “asinine.” The Utah State head coach joined DJ & PK and defended his former player and offensive coordinator while acknowledging the pressure to deliver immediate results in college football. #michiganfootball #big10

Catastrophic flooding in Bluff as the San Juan River rises to near record levels. The river is expected to crest this afternoon / evening at 31 feet — 8 feet above flood level. The record high for the San Juan river was sent in 1927 at 32 feet — we’ll come just short of breaking that. @KUTV2News

Remember when Pat amplified a completely false rumor that an 18-year-old Ole Miss student slept with her boyfriend’s dad—getting her doxxed, flooded with death threats, and her mom’s house swatted—then took months to apologize? But yeah, he’s the real victim because a Utah student said something corny.
Hot take McAfee is totally in the right. You have a school putting out a hate video and there has been multiple viral tweets calling for him to be killed. The problem is he’s way too overexposed so everyone hates him now. He needs to dial his screen time back.

Raising kids is not something that parents can do on their own. Parents need support and always have, but the proper source of support for most parents is not the government. It’s the community: Extended family, friends, neighborhood, church, and school. washingtonexaminer.com/in_fo…
