🚀 Excited to share our latest work on Mrx6 and mtDNA copy number regulation, now available on @biorxivpreprint ! We uncover how Mrx6 and Mam33 interact with the Lon protease Pim1 to control substrate degradation. 🔬 Check it out here: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… #mitochondria #mtDNA
We have an open Postdoc position!
Join our lab in Gothenburg at the beautiful west coast of Sweden to work on an exciting project:

What are respiratory supercomplexes (SCs) doing?
Our collaboration with @Holab_DukeNUS shows that an extra large SC forms between complex I and complex III in a mouse model of complex III deficiency. SC-XL rescues the respiratory defect.

Mark your calendars for this year's Walter Neupert Lecture🎊 – at Planegg, Deutschland
Fantastic!
Super excited to share our latest work on the native in-cell organization of the mitochondrial respiratory chain 🥳
Using cryo-electron tomography🔬, we show how the respiratory complexes (and other complexes) are organized inside native mitochondria!

Awesome fun activity at the retreat with the @Ott_MitoLab at Tjärnö Marine Station 🔬🪸🪼🦀🦭
Just back from a wonderful retreat with the @osman_lab in Tjärnö on the Swedish west coast @GothenburgMBL. Three days of scientific discussions around mitochondrial gene expression and maintenance, beautiful scenery and lots of fun. Thanks to everybody for the good times!!

Very happy to share our latest findings: A novel chaperone – Chp1 – functions at the ribosomal tunnel to safeguard the biosynthesis of abundantly expressed eEF1A. Great collaboration with @BukauLab
@hauryliuk and many others! rdcu.be/dyFTI
Congratulations Dr. Andreas Carlström, PhD thesis✅ Thanks for being such a force in the group! And thanks for a great discussion by the opponent Chris Meisinger, Freiburg University, and the committee, Gunnar von Hejine @Stockholm_Uni, @krijonas and Joanna Rorbach @MolMet_KI !!
I gave a good bye-lecture today at @Stockholm_Uni, summarizing 12 years of research shared with so many fantastic students, postdocs and colleagues. Tack så mycket Pål Stenmark for the 3D-prints of structures from our joint projects! Now on to new adventures @goteborgsuni
