Quick thread on AI and productivity:
Lots of people say this chart shows AI is now showing up in the productivity data.
But I made this chart to argue the opposite: a trend that pre-dates AI and only shows up in the US doesn’t look like AI.
Here’s how I’m thinking about the data and underlying dynamics:

“The factual basis for my position is that too many people have come to Denmark. Too many people have come to Europe who don’t know how to behave, who commit crimes. And we’re sick of it. And that’s why they shouldn’t be here. That’s the factual basis.”

If Anthropic's IPO is successful there's going to be billions in funding flowing to organisations that focus on protecting the 'psychological safety' of sentient machines, shrimp welfare, & other anti-human projects. We're not ready for this.

Anti-Buddhism would make a decent vitalist religion.
Get attached to things and people.
Burn with lust, love, and desire.
Never choose the middle way.
Hatred is overcome by hatred.
You are a self, distinct from the world.
Now go and cling to life.

Good Morning from #Germany, where a founder boom is defying the economic gloom. A record 3,053 startups were launched in H1 2026, up 88% YoY. 1 in 3 focuses on AI, while VC funding jumped 44% to €5.8bn. Germany’s next growth engine may be emerging.

Inheritance is a dumb idea. Your kids don't need money at 60. They need it at 30, when they're drowning in debt, scraping for a down payment, and raising kids. Pass wealth while you're alive.

Short names are "IN". It's a middle class thing.
Another funny phenom:
- lower class > Anglo names: Ronny, Wesley, Johnny, Rodney
- Middle class > Scandi names: Mats, Nils, Axel, Liv, Finn, Lars
- Higher class > French names: Charlotte, Olivier, Jules, Louis, Claire, Brigitte
