From the CEO/ED of @TrustChromatic @shariqmktweets : It was an incredible honor to speak at the South Asia Regional Tobacco Control Leadership Program in Colombo, Sri Lanka, organized by the @JohnsHopkinsSPH specially because I am also an alumni of the same program. Sharing my thoughts on how contemporary media can be used to engage youth and build public support for stronger tobacco control policies was a truly rewarding experience. Moderated by the exceptional Steve Tamplin, my session alongside @vaishakhimallik, Associate Director, South Asia Programs, VS, focused on crafting youth-specific media campaigns and strategies to drive lasting community engagement and advocacy. A heartfelt thank you to the @IGTC_Hopkins , Steve Tamplin, and Annette David for their unwavering dedication to this transformative program. Grateful to the superstar of the program, Sejal Saraf for making this initiative a reality and to my incredible peers from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Together, we’re building a future free from the devastating impact of tobacco. Special thanks to Azadi Mathew-Lewis & @TobaccoFreeKids @CTFKGlobal.

Senate Chairman @YRGillani has criticized the exemption of cigarette taxes in the recent budget, highlighting the inconsistency of increasing taxes on essential commodities while leaving cigarette taxes unchanged. He stressed the need for collective efforts to combat smoking and safeguard the future of millions of young people. During a meeting at the Senate Chairman’s office with Chromatic, Mr Gillani awarded prizes and certificates to the winners of the Chromatic Anti-Tobacco Postcard Season 4 competition, which saw over 1,500 participants from across the country. Senator @sherryrehman and Member of Punjab Assembly @Amina_HSheikh also expressed concerns about the rising smoking addiction among youth and called for stronger anti-smoking policies. CEO @TrustChromatic , @shariqmktweets, thanked Mr Gillani for his support and urged for the strict implementation of laws to raise cigarette prices and enforce health warnings to eradicate smoking in Pakistan.

We were honored to host @BrAqeelMalik, MNA @pmln_org and Government Spokesperson on Legal Affairs, at our office. His dedication to addressing the detrimental effects of tobacco on Pakistani youth and his commitment to a smoke-free Pakistan for future generations were truly inspiring. Furthermore, his concern for the impacts of climate change reassured us that young policymakers like him will strive to make Pakistan a better place. @shariqmktweets
