AI Video Shows U.S. Role in Brazil's Elections
"Every one of my F-35 jets needs about 400 kilos of rare earths," says an AI-generated Uncle Sam in the video "You have the second largest reserve on the planet, and you're just sitting on it."
An AI video depicting Uncle Sam sums up Washington's priorities for Brazil ahead of the October 25 presidential election runoff, and how U.S. social media platforms are "invading" voter opinion.
It is unclear who created the AI video that is now being shared over social media.
"What they did with Meta is straight out of a playbook," says Nadia Beller, the ex-partner of Bolsonaro ally, political strategist Fernando Cerimedo.
Cerimedo was arrested for hiring hitmen to assassinate Beller in September.
Beller is still recovering from the multiple gunshot wounds. She gave an interview this week on the Ventana al Mundo program on Mexico’s public television network, Canal Catorce (Channel 14).
During the interview, she explained how Cerimedo and a member of the Bolsonaro family, who is assumed to be Flavio’s brother Eduardo, met with Meta officials to plot interference in Brazil’s presidential elections.
On October 13, Tom Morello, the former guitarist of Rage Against the Machine, posted a video message to the Brazilian people on his Instagram account.
“This isn’t just an election," said @tmorello. "It is a frontline battle against fascism and oligarchy. When you vote for Lula, you are voting for the dignity of the working class and sending a message to tyrants everywhere that the people will not be ruled by fear. Defend your rights, defend the environment, defend your future against the fascists and the exploiters and the corporate elite. Vote Lula and power to the people.”
His post was shared simultaneously to the accounts of rock singer Pitty, the Landless Rural Workers’ Movement (MST), socialist influencer Laura Sabino and guitarist Tony Bellotto of the band Titãs. @TheRealNews
