Rescue crews from @SARA_AZRescue spent the night in Sabino Canyon after locating a lost, severely dehydrated hiker. The hiker and rescue teams were flown out in the morning by Sheriff 1. @PimaSheriff

A new hoist cable has been installed on Sheriff 1. It is tested and conditioned using a 500 pound weight. @PimaSheriff

A @SaguaroNPS employee was injured this morning when he was bucked off a mule near Manning Camp. Sheriff 1 responded and was able to transport the patient off the mountain. @PimaSheriff #sar

Yesterday afternoon a hiker fell near Tanque Falls and sustained several injuries. The @SARA_AZRescue responded to stabilize the patient. @PimaSheriff Sheriff 1 conducted a hoist operation and transported the patient to an awaiting ambulance.

Yesterday, Search and Rescue along with Sheriff 1 gave a presentation during @GVFDPIO Camp Nitro. Camp participants learned about search and rescue responsibilities and how Sheriff 1 is used during critical events.

3 recent searches have all originated in the area of Marshall Gulch. Hikers are dropping into the Sabino Creek which leads to difficult terrain and no actual trail to follow. Make sure you’re on the correct trail when leaving Marshall Gulch. @SARA_AZRescue

Second rescue of the day with @RuralMetroCAZ . As a reminder, with the heat you should be starting and finishing your hike earlier in the day. Bring plenty of water and know your limits. Fortunately both rescues only required some rest and rehydration.

A hiker sustained an ankle injury yesterday in Bear Canyon. @RuralMetroCAZ arrived on scene and splinted the injury. @Arizona_DPS Ranger 2 lowered a rescue deputy to the scene. The patient was hoisted out to an awaiting ambulance.

Hiker rescue this afternoon with @SaguaroNPS on the Sweetwater Trail. Plan your hike accordingly. The heat is upon us. Try to finish your hike before it’s too hot. Bring plenty of food and water; turn around when you drink half your water.

A hiker was airlifted by @Arizona_DPS Ranger 2 on Saturday night after breaking his leg on Mt Lemmon. A rescue deputy was lowered to the scene with gear. The @SARA_AZRescue was able to hike to the patient and assist with stabilizing him and preparing him for the hoist.

Yesterday a hiker fell on Mt Lemmon and sustained several injuries. The patient was stabilized by @SARA_AZRescue and Mt Lemmon Fire. @Arizona_DPS Ranger 1 flew from Phoenix to hoist the patient out. Great team effort by all those involved. @PimaSheriff

A Blackhawk from @CBPArizona conducted a challenging hoist to rescue an injured hiker on Mt Lemmon. High winds made the hoist extremely difficult. Thanks to @SARA_AZRescue for stabilizing and keeping the patient warm overnight. @PimaSheriff

Rescue crews have been working all night with a hiker rescue on Mt. Lemmon. A technical rescue team has been called in due to terrain and icy conditions. @PimaSheriff

Yesterday a hiker fell and sustained a head injury near Tanque Verde Falls. Due to the injury a helicopter was requested for air evac. A hoist capable helicopter from @CBPArizona responded and hoisted the patient and transported him directly to the hospital. @SARA_AZRescue

Annual Christmas callout. Last night rescuers from @SARA_AZRescue assisted with a hiker who fell approximately 200 feet on the Butterfly Trail on Mt Lemmon. Snow and ice made for a difficult rescue, but our rescuers train for situations like this.

A hunter with a medical emergency was airlifted from rugged terrain SW of Tucson this morning by @Arizona_DPS Ranger 52. The patient was transported to the hospital via air ambulance. @PimaSheriff

It was a late night on Mt Lemmon last night searching for a hiker who had been lost for 2 days. The hiker was successfully found in thick vegetation by rescuers with @SARA_AZRescue and Survey 1. He was provided with food and water, and was able to hike out.
