I tried PDFgear recently, and I think it is worth bringing to @testdriveso for more people to explore.
My experience was quite smooth. The website was easy to navigate, and I had no trouble using the tools I tested. Everything felt straightforward, which made the experience enjoyable.
One thing I noticed was that I could not find where to merge two PDF files. It would be helpful if that option were easier to locate.
Overall, PDFgear made working with PDF documents feel simple, and I would like to see more testers try it out and share their experiences.

I tested free PDF tools on the files that usually send me back to Adobe Acrobat; only one did a decent job

No worries. Since your certificate was scanned, it's basically an image, so the text isn't directly editable. Try pdfgear.com/pdf-to-word/ Open the original PDF and convert it to Word using Advanced Mode (OCR). It'll recognize the text and turn it into editable content. Hope this saves you some time!

Impressed by @PDFgear! Clean UI, great visuals, & its FREE!๐คฉ
BEST option while reviewing research papers. Highlight, underline, convert, translate, OCR, + an IMPRESSIVE eye-protection mode.
The 'popular' PDF app & its pesky reminders to 'upgrade' can go to hell! #AcademicChatter

Should you want a full-featured PDF viewer and editor, consider the free one I run on this computer, PDFgear.
However, "PDFgear is free for the moment," so who knows how it'll handle/demand payment in the future.

Okular is cool and all, but I prefer PDFGear (Tho it's not on linux)
It supports easy and actually good OCR; it has a good built-in converter and a lot of other actually useful tools that I could only find in other paid software like PDFElement.
AND It's completely FREE

one of my biggest learnings since joining @Cloudflare is how to handle incidents
we operate at a mind boggling scale, and working in observability, I've been in the middle of my fair share of incidents
internally, it's always about mitigating impact, figuring out how the root cause, and implementing preventive measures
outside, it's always sharing transparently the full story to our users and customers
it can be stresful, but everyone is supportive, working as a team to provide the highest levels of service, always
