As always, I love returning to the classroom and seeing children passionate about learning! This time I was at the Pool Hayes Academy in Willenhall, where I met the Principal, Lawrence and Laura Coglan, and Aneka James Right from Teach First. Teacher training and recruitment has always been a huge issue, now even more than ever! It was insightful to hear about the problems faced in STEM teacher recruitment ,and the constant curriculum narrowing. We need a well-rounded curriculum that focuses on teaching children not just what to learn but how to learn—giving them the critical skills they will need to live. Schools are the hearts of our community, and they need to be at the centre of our public services! Teachers need support, and we must welcome routes such as apprenticeships and on-the-job training to expand our provision. Thank you all for your time and a wonderful visit. Your children are a credit to the school community! #Wolverhampton #Willenhall
