⚠️ IMPORTANT: These medicines are not automatically dangerous. Many are essential treatments when prescribed and monitored correctly. Never stop prescribed medication without speaking to your healthcare professional.
People with kidney disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or dehydration may need extra precautions.
Protect your kidneys by using medicines only as directed and asking your doctor or pharmacist whether they are safe for you.

CAN SOME MEDICATIONS DAMAGE THE HUMAN KIDNEYS? HERE ARE THE DRUGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT.
Certain medications can damage the kidneys, especially when taken in high doses, used for long periods, or taken by people who already have kidney disease.
👇
Ibuprofen and diclofenac: These common painkillers belong to a group called NSAIDs. They can reduce blood flow to the kidneys, increasing the risk of kidney injury, particularly during dehydration.
Certain antibiotics: Gentamicin and vancomycin can damage kidney cells in some patients, especially at high drug levels or with prolonged treatment.
Some stomach-acid medications: Proton pump inhibitors, such as omeprazole, have been associated with kidney inflammation and, rarely, kidney injury.
Lithium: This medication, used to treat certain mental health conditions, can cause kidney problems with long-term use.
Some cancer medications: Drugs such as cisplatin can directly damage kidney cells and require careful monitoring.
Certain antiviral medications: Some, including acyclovir, can cause kidney injury under particular circumstances, especially with high doses or inadequate hydration.
🧠 WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
Your kidneys filter your blood, regulate fluid and electrolytes, and help remove waste products. When a medication interferes with these functions, kidney injury can occur.

The cinematography in Gangs of London is incredible. The action scenes feel raw, intense, and almost cinematic enough to belong on the big screen. Definitely worth watching! 🔥

By around 8 weeks after fertilization, the developing baby is called a fetus. Throughout pregnancy, the fetus continues to grow, its organs mature, its movements develop, and its body prepares for life outside the womb.
By around 40 weeks of pregnancy, a full-term baby is generally ready to be born.
Think about it: from one microscopic cell to a baby with a beating heart, a developing brain, tiny fingers, and tiny toes. The human body is truly remarkable! ❤️🧬
At which stage of development did you learn something new? 👇

🧬 THE JOURNEY OF LIFE: From Fertilization to Birth 👶❤️
Did you know that every human being began as a single cell?👇
After fertilization, that cell begins dividing and developing into an embryo. Over the following weeks, major organs and body structures begin to form. The heart starts developing early, the brain and spinal cord take shape, and tiny arms and legs gradually emerge.

Here are some factors that may contribute to their development:
🧬 DNA mutations: Changes in a cell's DNA can disrupt normal growth and cause cells to multiply abnormally.
Radiation exposure:** Exposure to ionizing radiation, especially radiation treatment involving the head, is an established risk factor.
🧬 Inherited genetic conditions: Rare conditions such as neurofibromatosis can increase the risk of certain brain tumors.
Family history: Some inherited genetic changes can increase risk, although most people with brain tumors have no family history of the disease.

🧠 A BRAIN TUMOR DOESN'T JUST APPEAR WITHOUT A REASON… SO WHAT CAUSES IT?👇
A brain tumor develops when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the brain or nearby tissues. But here's something surprising: Scientists still don't know the exact cause of most brain tumors.

When kidney disease damages the kidney filters, protein can leak into the urine, causing protein levels in the blood to fall. This allows fluid to escape from blood vessels and collect in surrounding tissues.
The skin around the eyes is thin and contains loose tissue, making it easier for fluid to accumulate there. This can cause noticeable puffiness, especially in the morning.
Kidney disease can also cause the body to retain excess salt and water, making the swelling worse.
⚠️ Important: Swelling around the eyes does not always mean kidney disease. Allergies, lack of sleep, and other medical conditions can also cause it.
Persistent or unexplained swelling, especially with foamy urine, swollen legs, or reduced urination, should be checked by a healthcare professional.

🫘 Why might kidney disease cause swelling around the eyes?
Your kidneys help filter waste and excess fluid from your blood. They also help keep important proteins, such as albumin, in your bloodstream. So why should all these cause swelling? 👇👇
