8 years ago you posted a warning about pay-for-play youth sports killing participation, and you asked the sport to revitalize rec lacrosse alongside club growth. That post still matters. Club costs have since climbed past a $1k a year on average to $4-7 plus with travel for many families. And in places like Colorado the player base is smaller than it was a decade ago. Your recent $100mil fund raise and comments about lowering those costs show you see it too. The pros got built. The question now is whether the foundation gets the same attention. Right now the kids who can't pay are the ones leaving, and they're not coming back. Many families can't float that bill for just one child. The sport is in a precarious position. Grateful for everything you've done for the game, and for leaving room for conversation.
