Players: It’s unfair, but others will often judge you by the people you’re around. They assume what one is doing, all are doing, so you have to be very intentional about who you let in your circle & who you surround yourself with. Remember, bad company corrupts good character.

Players: There’re so many excuses you can make to avoid putting in extra work, but every time you stay out late, sleep in, skip a workout, decide not to stay after practice, don’t give 100%, you make it easier for others to beat you. When you’re not doing it, your competition is.

Players: Your coaches are watching you every day. This off-season will tell them a lot about who’s committed to improving/working hard & who’s only interested when it’s convenient for them. There’s no secrets. You can & will only be great at what you are willing to sacrifice for.

Players: Every moment you spend with your teammates competing on the court, in the locker room, on the bus & during practice are times that will never be duplicated in your life. All too soon it comes to an end, so cherish the moments of accomplishment, camaraderie & friendship.
