Automations in Chirp can now actually do things — not just tell you about them. Here's what changed. Until now an automation could watch your devices and send you a message. Now it can send a command straight to a device the moment its conditions are met. No person in the loop. No app open. Nobody awake. The obvious example: water detected → the shutoff valve closes itself → and then you get the message, telling you it's already handled. But it works for anything you can control. Humidity climbing → dehumidifier on. Temperature drifting → setpoint moves. You can even make the value a formula based on the reading itself, so the response scales with how bad the problem is. This is a bigger deal than it sounds. Anything that can accept a command is now something the network can operate, not just something it reads. That's the line between a sensor network and something that actually runs the physical world. And you don't need to know how any of it works. We’re rolling out the biggest release in our history. 4 months of work. Deployment started on Monday. If all goes to plan, we’ll complete it by the end of this week. Important note for the Chirp community. Every epoch, new $CHIRP tokens are minted and distributed across several pools defined in our tokenomics. One of these pools is allocated to early supporters of the network. This pool is approaching its final phase. The last reward distribution is scheduled for Q1 2026. Once it ends, emissions from this pool will stop, which naturally reduces ongoing sell pressure coming from early allocations. At the same time, the token economy is built around real usage. A significant part of emissions goes to Network Keepers who provide coverage and keep the network running. Other allocations support ecosystem growth, active users, and long term development through the treasury. There is also an important sustainability mechanism at work. Tokens used to pay for network access are locked and temporarily removed from circulation. Over time, this reduces effective supply and strengthens the long term balance of the token economy.
