If a politician said this about any other faith, they would rightfully be run out of their party.
But this kind of despicable anti-Muslim rhetoric is so normalized that a sitting Senator uses it without consequence.

Ask Kyrsten Sinema who curtsied on the senate floor while rejecting a minimum wage increase. And then spent the rest of her time in office protecting hedge fund managers from paying taxes and blocking filibuster reform.
Today she is cashing in from the industry she protected. The Wall Street journal recently marveled at the sheer number of projects she has taken on from crypto, ai and other wealthy corporate clients.
Meanwhile, millions of working Americans have not seen a wage increase in almost two decades are still waiting for Democrats to deliver on our most basic promises.
