Brigham City is stepping up as a leader in the nuclear renaissance. 🇺🇸
Through Operation Gigawatt and a new partnership between Hi Tech Solutions, Holtec International, our universities, and state and local leaders, we will manufacture advanced reactor components, train a world-class workforce, and ensure reliable, affordable power for Utah and the nation.
Utah is building energy security, national security, and opportunity for generations to come.

New: More GOP pushback on Ways & Means' IRA cuts. @RepNewhouse told me he's "disappointed" the bill "phases out investments in nuclear energy at a time when the country is facing unprecedented power demands," which he says will hinder race to keep up w/China on advanced reactors

I talked to the ex-engineer at Palisades nuclear station who this week came out against the plant's historic restart effort.
Turns out he recently starred in an anti-nuclear group's podcast. Both the NRC and the plant's owner say the claims are not new.

The historic Palisades restart is one that is focused on safety and safely producing clean power for Michigan. Recent public comments by a former employee, who had not worked at the facility in over a decade, needed factual responses to ensure our commitment to protecting the public health and safety is understood. Bloomberg's article provides context and our full response is below in the pictures.

Additionally, Patrick O'Brien, Director of Government Affairs and Communications at Holtec International, shared insights on the restart of Palisades on the panel 'Turning the Tides: From Decommissioning to Operations.' He spoke alongside Maureen Zawalick, Vice President of Nuclear Business & Technical Services at PG&E, with Charlie Bowser, Director of Decarbonization at Lummus, as the moderator.
Great article on Huffington Post by @AlexCKaufman about the efforts to challenge the law passed in New York last year, usurping the NRC's sole authority on radiological discharge.
