These high turnover service businesses sound absolutely brutal. Much higher op tempo reqs and lower margins. Whew.

>First, DEI hire - nope. That girl made flying her life
Ummmm guyz she tried weally weally hard to be a good pilot. 🥺
Fuck off. We’re done covering for this shit. And you need to go home, to India.
I have refrained from statement on this - probably for my own good.
However, I think we've got enough information to call out the nonsense that is floating around.
First, DEI hire - nope. That girl made flying her life - as I see among only the most passionate pilots. My dad being one of them.
Her boyfriend was also a pilot - both of them were absolutely in love with flying.
Now, what seemed to have happened - as I was watching the weather most of the day.
First, we get pretty bad storms, I have screen shots of ceilings at FL300 - 30,000ft - manageable. You fly over them.
Then, we get a single cell that rapidly - faster than I've noticed (abnormal, but not recordbreaking)- grows in size from low pressure and heat below go from 30,000ft to 48,000ft in under ~11 minutes.
So imagine this, you're flying - you're 20-30 minutes from destination and descending is part of the flight plan, at radio check in you're scheduled to be 6,000ft above any weather issues in roughly 9 minutes. After 5 minutes, you're 3,000ft above weather issues, by one minute out, you realize safety margin is rapidly shrinking and request climb, which is granted. By the the time you're over it, you're in the middle of it - where any pilot would avoid any sharp maneuvering mid storm.
All things considered here, I would've loved to see them avoid the entire cell all together, they did ask for a better ride (meaning a different route) - however in the minutes leading up to the loss of control, everything "seemed" avoidable and within safe operating capacities.
Mind you, this is from where I sit. Of course more data will come out and the @NTSB has been on point with their discovery in the past.
Some things to keep in mind:
The information provided here is loose observation, not data science from where I sit - just an aviation expert's 30 minute take on what may have happened.
Weather Radar is often delayed - there is no definitive way of being precise in time or type for weather - which is why tolerances exist.
Your pilots, both of them, worked for an ARG/US rated company - well audited, regularly, for safety. Tragic, close to home, and I know the operation behind it - they have always done a wonderful job.
FWIW - I was in the cockpit at 12 and several times before I even drove a car.
Naturally, people will always bring up the safety in flying private versus commercial - I'll revitalize the metrics that I have kept track of throughout the years and publish that in the coming days.
Military and finance background is perfect for search funds. Don’t have the manager/leader issues and understand the technical bits.
Some people earn their status and coast, some people earn their status and wake up everyday and keeping earning it. The ‘resume’ filter is helpful but not sufficient.
I am instantly bearish on anyone that name drops pedigree to establish legitimacy.
If you anchor your capability on a group identity, I’ll just assume you are the worst of your cohort.
The worst financiers / lawyers / executives / techies I know are the ones that drop their Wall St / White Shoe / MBB / FAANG backgrounds on the first meeting.
The best don’t draw legitimacy from their former colleagues.

Age does typically increase proximity to ‘decisions that matter’ - I learned this very young in the wars.
This is the problem with changing demographics. Ok, we disagree. How to solve this? We can vote. Well, that’s not really an option after you’ve stacked the deck. What are we going to do now?
I mean tbf Weimar birthed Hitler
If your plan involves making people miserable in hopes they join your team you're going to lose. Revolutionaries who are successful don't hand over power in hopes that enough people eventually agree with them.
You have to sell people a version of the future that is better or you will lose. Communist aren't going to create to conditions for the far right to win. That has never happened.
>totally self defeating and irrational
lol come on man
Refusing to pay medical bills and toll road fees is a principled stance these days. I’m not participating in a system that robs me for the benefit of others, no thanks. Honestly we should stop paying taxes in general.
I’m going to admit here to something that I find a little shameful, something I never thought I’d do, something I’m kind of embarrassed to admit.
I recently let a $3000 medical bill go to collections because there are zero consequences for this in my state and I know that it will let me negotiate a lower price.
Do you know how demoralized you have to make me to get me to behave this way? Do you know how badly you have to derange the incentives to turn me into this?
Do these guys realize we can’t eat GDP
This fight is so fucking stupid. We couldn’t do anything about and shrugged our shoulders at 20m. Why not make this out to be our ‘arms race with ussr’ level problem?
