Field Flippers through Week 8. The FBS teams most frequently pinning opponents inside their own 5-yard line. Wake Forest leads the group at 23.8%, with Iowa and Minnesota close behind.

No show for us this week as McGraw gallivants around the UK. Here are our official show "Locks of the Week" for the #ACC. We'll be back next week to preview ACC basketball, Week 10 games, and Dave Doeren's dismissal.

Understand fans’ frustration with the offense, and Kitchings’ role as the architect. But seeing a lot of fans upset with this quote. This is what 100% of coaches should say in this situation?
"Stop listening to y'all, block out the noise." UVA coach Tony Elliott says the team needs to block out the external noise from the media and others. *Elliott prefaced this by asking can we have some fun.

As a girls basketball coach, I'm mortified for how all of this is being handled.
Ramona Shelburne on what could happen if the WNBA title is won on Thursday: "That celebration may not actually be on that court. I've heard there are discussions about whether there's enough time to turn the arena over in time for the fans to celebrate on the court. It could be moved to a practice court" Unreal man smh

Carolina refs
On this day in North Carolina history October 26, 1895. North Carolina helped change football forever, and it happened because a desperate player broke the rules. UNC was playing Georgia in Atlanta when fullback Joel Whitaker faced a Georgia rush that threatened to block his punt. Instead of kicking the ball, he threw it forward to teammate George Stephens. Stephens caught it and ran 70 yards for a touchdown. Georgia's coach, legendary Pop Warner, protested. The forward pass was illegal, but the referee never saw the throw. The touchdown stood, and UNC won 6 to 0. The forward pass wouldn't become legal until 1906. Think about that the next time you watch a quarterback throw a touchdown. A play that helped shape modern football started with a desperate decision by a Tar Heel. North Carolina history is full of stories like this one. 🏈

#UVA opens as a more than a two touchdown underdog traveling to #14 Wake Forest on Saturday. Impossible for me to know for certain but I think if the Hoos had held on vs. Duke, line would be closer to 10.5 or 11.

Just a word of caution…you’re going to hear a lot of “the SEC is eating each other up” which is true. But it’s not just the SEC. It’s all leagues. Just don’t let them fool you into thinking the SEC is the only one playing tackle while everyone else is playing flag football.

My take on the #UVA QB situation: I don’t think that Eli Holstein is better than Beau Pribula, esp. with the offensive style the team wants to run. But I wonder if giving Holstein some experience on designated drives would help. Plus would be eval. for next season decisions.
