I think it could work great. Might not.
If Rivers means orders of magnitude more for the roster, why can’t it? He has so many coaching connections.
Deion is not a good comp. He doesn’t even try to do a lot of the stuff you need to succeed. I don’t think Rivers is a grift.
NC State is apparently serious about hiring Phillip Rivers.
When will these folks ever learn that hiring the big name with no college coaching experience NEVER WORKS?
That and my CFP rankings thoughts in this week's Mailbag.

It was great to see how Coach Amato was honored in the game today. The helmet stickers, a standing O with the Jumbotron recognition AND re-running his in-game video from the past. To hear the voice again of the @PackFootball legend.

My favorite part of this job is meeting genuinely kind people. @PackFootball interim head coach Todd Goebbel is one of them. (Side note.. My twin daughters had the flu this week, and he told me multiple times he was praying for them. 🙏🏼)
It’s been an emotional week for this program, but players all told me, Goebbel brought a sense of calm and stability. Rooting for The Pack! @accnetwork @PackAthletics @CoachGoebbel

Why did NC State fire Dave Doeren NOW? 🤔
Greg (@PackFanInNOVA) was in the stands at Stanford Friday.
Boo Corrigan still hasn't taken a single question. Doeren speaks this afternoon.
Before he does, here's Part 1 of our show on all of it 👇

Bills GM on Rivers interview: When I told them who we were going to interview everyone in the room was like 'What is this about?' As the interview went along I could see every one of their heads perking up like 'Holy s--t, this f--king guy is really good.' buffalonews.com/sports/profe…

A lot are happy but you still have to give Dave his flowers. Did a lot for the program and community around it.

No staff treated HS coaches and NC HS Football better the last 14 years than Doeren’s staff at NC State. He and his staff had a great run and should be appreciated/celebrated and not remembered for the finish.
