#FungiFriday The first Amanita Muscaria I’ve seen this autumn and a couple of patches of Readlead Roundhead. 3 or 4 years ago I would be happy to find a few single ones but this year there are dozens. Also the largest area of Alder Brackets I’ve ever seen.

#MushroomMonday Lots of Parasols about at the moment, I think this might be Aminata Franchetii with its very white stipe, possibly a Cracking Bolete and Spindle Toughshank growing round an oak tree.

#Fungi #Mushrooms Some more from my visit to Leighton Moss. Not sure what sort of Milkcaps the first two are, I think the third is a Wooly Milkcap and the last one a Birch Knight.

#FungiFriday Saw this rather splendid Dyer’s Mazegill a couple of days ago and these very small ( 2 inches ) black fungi as well. No idea what they are and would appreciate an ID if anyone knows.

#WaterWednesday The way it was and the way it is now. This shallow acidic lake was an important habitat for Dragon flies and Damselflies with more than 15 species recorded here. I imagine there are very few fish left either.

#InsectThursday A pair of Red Legged Sheildbugs on today’s walk and a Poplar Hawk-Moth out of its comfort zone on a previous walk. A second Hornet joined us 5 days after the first followed by this Old Lady which was a lot harder to remove than the Hornet.
