The complex and discriminatory system of religiously selective admissions means families who feign religiosity can secure places while committed Christians from minority churches lose out.
It's time for such admissions to go, writes Megan Manson👇

This part is particularly outrageous.
Victims of unwanted botched circumcision can't get justice because complications are **common**.
How many boys and men have we failed by letting this happen??
Op-ed: Our council member Antony Lempert writes that the unregulation of circumcision in the UK is an abdication of responsibility by government and safeguarding professionals - and one which is contributing to the harm of children.

The Church of England, which has committed £100m to supposedly help communities affected by historic transatlantic slavery, is quite happy for its schools to have policies which discriminate against black children.
The Court of Appeal has upheld a judgement ruling faith schools can have admissions policies which disadvantage children based on race.
The exemptions to the Equality Act which enable this are nothing short of scandalous.

👏👏👏👏👏
We welcome the Church Appointments bill, but it is only a first step. Sam Carling MP's contribution shows why reform must go further. We'll keep campaigning to separate religion and state for a fairer society.

BREAKING: A bill to end unfair restrictions on Jewish and Catholic prime ministers has passed in the Commons.
We called on the PM to repeal the restrictions in August. The bill should be the first step in wider reform to separate Church and state.

Mergers which could lead to religious institutions taking over inclusive, secular community schools must be resisted. Now more than ever, we need schools that bring families from different backgrounds together as equals.
A nonreligious community school in Hampton Wick is at risk of takeover by the Church of England.
We've urged Richmond Council to preserve schooling that welcomes families of all backgrounds and beliefs equally.

We've joined the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain in coordinating a letter from 15 organisations urging the UK Government to act for Betty Lachgar, jailed in Morocco for 'blasphemy' over a t-shirt she wore in London.

#secularism = holding religions to same standards as any other institution or ideology.

We called on Andy Burnham, Britain's first Catholic PM, to end the bar on Catholic and Jewish PMs advising on Church appointments.
As a Bill to do so is debated this week, Stephen Evans argues that no PM should be appointing bishops at all👇

"Beyond the issue of religious extremism, Igwe urged the German government to address the "pervasive" persecution linked to witchcraft accusations across Africa, India, and Papua New Guinea." saharareporters.com/2026/10/…
Under these plans, it appears it would be prohibited (and rightly so) for charities to say "Jews are evil", but not to say "gays are evil" or "women are evil".
I'm not sure why the Government thinks this is acceptable.
Plans to extend the Charity Commission's powers to challenge extremism in charities are long overdue - yet we're concerned the proposals fall far short of tackling the most egregious problems in the sector, and fail to protect women and LGBT people.

The UK must not stand by and let this young woman be slaughtered simply for allegedly saying something deemed offensive to Islam.
We're urging the Foreign Secretary to intervene in the case of Najmeh Amini, an Iranian woman sentenced to death for 'blasphemy'.
No one should face imprisonment, let alone execution, for exercising their right to freedom of expression.

Thankfully, a planned attack on a mosque was prevented.
Yet 5Pillars insists that Ahmadis are not Muslims and their mosque is not really a mosque.
Ahmadi Muslims in Britain face prejudice from two directions: anti-Muslim hostility, and intimidation, exclusion and abuse from those who deny their right to identify as Muslims.
Three men who pleaded guilty to plotting a far-right terrorist attack against an Ahmadiyya place of worship (which they had most likely mistaken for a mosque) were at an advanced stage of preparation when they were arrested, an Irish court has heard.

An example of a real-life 'witch hunt', in the 21st century.
@witchesofscotl1 , is this something you can help with?

If you don’t want Satanic prayers at your council meeting, don’t have prayers at all.

I've written on behalf of @NatSecSoc to the Foreign Secretary and FoRB Envoy, urging them to press their Saudi counterparts for the release of Anojan Sivarasa, convicted of blasphemy against Islam and the prophet Muhammad.
Blasphemy should not be a crime.
