Pantera's latest State of Tokenization report is out. We analyzed the $332bn tokenization market across 671 assets. Institutions entered in force this quarter. J.P. Morgan, HSBC and Fidelity launched onchain products. BlackRock's BUIDL moved $441mn onchain in June, runs a $1bn daily redemption facility, and is now accepted as collateral. On the consumer side, Robinhood Chain hit $888mn in weekly RWA volume in August, two months after launch. Collateral markets matured, with private credit putting 45% of its matched value to work in DeFi. The lack of a market-structure bill didn't stop tokenized stocks. A five-year SEC exemption lets the market keep developing under current rules. Full report: panteracapital.com/state-of-…

Just wrapped Money20/20. My biggest takeaway as a VC: the two forces reshaping fintech right now are AI agents and stablecoins. @SirDigitalDan from @CoinflowLabs and I dug into both in our fireside. Some takeaways: * Where will value accrue? AI is collapsing the cost of cognition, and stablecoins the cost of settlement. This changes value accrual, when those inputs aren’t scarce. I’m expecting value to migrate to regulated trust, proprietary data, distribution, underlying physical assets, networks. * What does stablecoins as programmable money unlock? Funds and spending rules can execute together, letting a product enforce agent budgets or trigger conditional payouts with less coordination across banks, processors and operational teams. * Where is agent demand emerging? Dan pointed to compute, inference and data APIs, which agents need to complete tasks. I’m looking for infra on fraud, KYA, chargebacks, and merchant side ops to help proliferate agentic commerce usage. * Who carries agent liability? A purchase can comply with the spending rules and still be a mistake. Before delegating larger budgets, businesses will want audit trails, a way to dispute purchases and an agreement on who absorbs losses. * Where’s the distribution advantage? Local integrations and merchant relationships give providers access to existing payment volume. Stablecoins can improve settlement without changing how customers pay. (Coinflow connects cards, ACH and PIX this way.) * How do existing PSPs participate? A provider can earn a processing fee when a developer funds an agent by card, even if subsequent payments settle in stablecoins. (Coinflow powers card funding for Tempo’s MPP Credits.) Thanks for the week @money2020! Curious what others took away too!

Tokenization does not create liquidity. Somebody has to underwrite the risk. Jon Shaffer and @steveonchain (Fission, @FissionXYZ) join Stateful, hosted by Franklin Bi, as we announce our investment leading their Series A: - $18 trillion in private markets, still running on paper and subscription agreements - Fission prices duration risk, not NAV. Asset managers retain control over their own valuations. - The market is capped at 6% to 7% yields because that is all you get with baked-in liquidity - The goal: double-digit returns with daily liquidity - Hot take: CLARITY failing in Congress may be the best thing that could have happened to tokenization 01:00 Origin Stories and Why Tokenization Doesn't Create Liquidity 05:50 The Series A and the $500 Billion Semi-Liquid Market 13:00 Why Private Markets Instead of Public Equities 19:15 Pricing Duration Risk Instead of Repricing NAV 24:55 Why Private Markets Need Their Own Venue 38:15 AI Pricing, Portfolio Construction, and Agentic Rebalancing 45:25 Hot Take: Why the CLARITY Act Failing Helps Tokenization

In 2024, an employee at engineering firm Arup transferred $25.6 million after joining a video call where every other participant was a deepfake. Since then, AI has advanced significantly and is making impersonation increasingly convincing, causing challenges for financial institutions in particular. As autonomous agents begin handling more financial activity on behalf of people, establishing an added layer of trust and security behind a transaction or sensitive conversation is becoming an urgent need. Introducing @world_id for banking and finance, a suite of technologies that helps institutions establish trust through privacy-preserving cryptographic Proofs. World ID for Zoom lets meeting participants confirm they are the same Orb-verified human connected to their account, while World ID for agents allows AI agents to carry Proofs delegated by people. Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital, and VanEck Funds are initial design partners, bringing World ID into some of finance's most consequential interactions. fortune.com/2026/10/18/zoom-…

A bluff only works when no one at the poker table knows you’re bluffing. Sliding two $1 billion chips onto the table makes no sense when Treasury has to sell $2 trillion (with a T) bonds every year. We could all see the bet was off by three orders of magnitude. Own the asset no one at the table can print. #BuyBitcoin

A new milestone for Ondo: $4 billion in TVL. From tokenized Treasuries to tokenized stocks, ETFs, portfolios & private markets, Ondo is expanding access with every asset class. Behind the $4 billion TVL milestone: → $1.3B+ in tokenized stocks & ETFs → #1 platform for tokenized U.S. Treasuries → 1M+ cumulative holders across products That growth reflects innovations in how tokenized assets trade, including Ondo Stocks tapping TradFi exchange liquidity through RFQ. Leading wallets and apps put that liquidity within reach, enabling permissionless transfers across Solana, Ethereum and BNB Chain. This milestone is an early sign of the scale ahead as tokenization transforms how the world accesses financial markets. Think in trillions.

New milestone: $3 billion in tokenized U.S. Treasuries. Ondo ranks #1 among tokenized U.S. Treasury platforms on RWA․xyz, with $3 billion across USDY, OUSG and tokenized Treasury ETFs. Leading that growth is USDY, with over $2.3 billion in TVL, larger than BlackRock’s BUIDL. With USDY, holders can: → Earn yield directly in their wallets → Trade permissionlessly onchain → Use USDY as collateral across DeFi apps This milestone reflects how quickly tokenization is growing and how early we still are in bringing the world’s financial markets onchain. Billions today. Trillions tomorrow.

Compliance can stay at issuance while tokenized assets become easier to trade, move across networks, and use in DeFi. That is where tokenized products improved in Q2, per @PanteraCapital, through changes in distribution, transferability, settlement, and composability.

The next evolution of tokenization is here. Pantera’s latest State of Tokenization report highlights Ondo Intelligent Portfolios as the next step beyond individual tokenized stocks. “An entire portfolio becomes a single transferable token.” What this delivers: → DeFi composability → Multiple assets in one holding → Scheduled rebalancing via smart contracts With its first three portfolios powered by BlackRock, Ondo Intelligent Portfolios brings institutional investment strategies onchain. The next chapter of tokenization will expand what investors can access, how they build portfolios, and how they put those assets to work.

Issuing tokens onchain is now straightforward. Building liquid, compliant markets is the next step. Our CEO @doctorfission argues once fund positions can be sold on demand and used as collateral, they become fundamentally more useful. Read his full take in the Pantera report.

📈 Tokenization is moving from simply putting assets onchain to building real, programmable capital markets. @PanteraCapital’s latest State of Tokenization report highlights several areas where @Ondo Finance is helping push that evolution forward: 📍Distribution: $USDY had the largest reported holder base among tokenized rates products, with nearly 18,000 addresses as of June 30. 📍Tokenized equities: @Ondo is highlighted across the report’s analysis of the rapidly growing onchain equity market which Ondo Finance continues to lead. 📍Perps: @OndoPerps launched in July with 24/7 exposure to stocks, ETFs and commodities, reaching $9B in cumulative volume and $100M in open interest within weeks of launch. 📍Onchain portfolios: Pantera highlights the launch of Ondo Intelligent Portfolios and our work with @BlackRock as an example of tokenization evolving from individual securities to entire investment strategies onchain. 📍TradFi connectivity: Oasis Pro’s connection to @The_DTCC Fund/SERV brings @Ondo into infrastructure that processes more than 85% of U.S. mutual fund transaction activity. 🌱 The bigger takeaway: issuance is only the beginning. 🏗️ The next phase of tokenization is about distribution, liquidity, composability, and connecting onchain assets to the infrastructure and use cases that make them truly useful. 🙌🏼 Proud to see @Ondo featured throughout the report as we continue building toward that future. 👏🏼 Great work by the @PanteraCapital team putting this together. 🚀

Our latest report on the State of Tokenization is out today! Last time, we asked how much of today's tokenized market is stuck in the "newspaper-on-a-website" phase. This time, we asked what comes after tokenization? How do tokenized assets become tradable markets with broad investor participation? Our Q2 research covers 671 tokenized assets ($330B+) with amazing work by @sui414 @0xallyzach. We updated our Tokenization Progress Index (TPI) across issuance & redemption, transferability, and composability. This edition adds new dimensions: onchain trading and ownership data. These help depict the current state of liquidity, trading volumes, and overall participation in tokenized assets. We also cover key Q3 developments, including @RobinhoodApp Chain's launch and the Clarity Act. Takeaway #1: Open assets are winning the battle for liquidity. Among tokenized assets of $10M+ value, the open / freely transferable ones made up 41% in value, but processed 99.8% of spot trading. Takeaway #2: Equity demand is arriving mostly through derivatives, mainly perpetuals. June equity perp volume hit $67.8B, ~16x the $4.2B of tokenized-equity spot volume. Takeaway #3: Liquidity means something different for each product. Yield funds need dependable redemption. Tokenized stocks need deep liquidity. Collateral needs reliable valuation & liquidation. Despite the CLARITY Act's delay, the momentum behind tokenization can't be stopped. The Great Onchain Migration marches forward, from putting assets onchain to building new markets around them.
