Season after season of upgrading the #Panthers defense through FA and the draft at every unit and there has still been one constant
the Panthers have allowed 200+ rushing yards in 20.69% of the games that Ejiro Evero has been the team's defensive coordinator

#Panthers announced that have put on Taylor Moton on IR and signed OLB Nick Hampton from the PS
Makes me wonder/worry if Jaelan Phillips will be out for a little longer if they're bringing up Hampton
Welp

@DuncOnDemand The Carolina Panthers are now 0–6 in the Dave Canales era when entering a game with a winning record.
Death, taxes, and the #Panthers' opponents being players of the week
Before using injuries as an excuse, know that other teams have injuries too
TB didn't even use their QB to pass downfield, and GB will be missing a big group of defenders and their center
Zaire Franklin dealing with hairline fracture, Sean Rhyan believed to have high-ankle sprain. nbcsports.com/nfl/profootbal…
Every phase of the #Panthers team sucked yesterday, worst than any other team in the NFL
And that's not an exaggeration
#Panthers LT Rasheed Walker, according to @NextGenStats, has allowed a team-leading 34 QB pressures (including four sacks) on 257 pass sets.
Seven pressures (including three sacks) came against Tampa Bay.
Today's #Panthers game was an outlier in so many ways, including the pressures that got home on Bryce
Bryce Young was pressured 16 times and sacked 5 times against the Buccaneers in Week 7. This was Young's highest pressure to sack rate in a game over the last two seasons, per @SumerSports
Rasheed Walker not only gives up a sack, but his failure and attempt to block caused Taylor Moton's serious injury
Even the FOX Sports broadcasters noticed it
One example: on one of the TD runs, Will Lee III was in position and Daryl Johnston said he needed to get right in there and force the issue, not square up
Here’s the thing, for me:
I don’t even think Canales was wrong that the execution was a main culprit on defense. The Bucs targeted the #Panthers edges, they got a lot of yards on cutbacks and redirections, many of which were aided by poor angles being taken, poor tackling attempts, general disinterest in being physical, etc — all of which are execution failures
But the coaches, including Canales and Evero, didn’t have the team prepared to win today either. The mistakes, the penalties, the approach — they weren’t that of a serious football team. I’m not interested in reverting back to being an unserious football team
Took down my "fine" tweet because it's not conveying what I'm trying to say
I'm trying to say that this game was an embarrassing, brutal disaster
It should never be acceptable
But they're 3-3, 1st place in the division
I want to think this isn't the end of the season yet
On the bright side, the #Panthers won't have a losing record after this game, and they'll still be in first place in the NFC South
Never satisfied, but it's not all bad (yet)

Major changes.
We’re too far into this, too expensive to be fielding this, and this kind of game happens too many times.
We know what the real run defense is, who the real team is. A middle of the pack group that can’t play up to their talent. Unprepared. All the time it seems.
Changes need to happen immediately or this season is lost.
That’s just the hard truth.
All I want to see every year is the #Panthers defense to destroy this man and he beats them nearly every time
FOX Sports analyst Daryl Johnston credits Luke Fortner for getting to the second level on the Tre Tyus TD run
Except it was Corey Bullock
Even though I said it's fine, doesn't mean I'm content
Major changes still need to be made
The run defense had decent showings against Bijan and Gibbs, and league-worst against CHI and TB
Which is the real run defense

But I disagree, bro. It’s not been fine. It’s not been fine for a decade and just because Canales isn’t as bad as Rhule doesn’t make him right.
