We've just learned that Oscar-nominated and BAFTA award-winning sound mixer Jeff Wexler has passed away at the age of 78. His legendary works include Almost Famous, The Last Samurai, Independence Day, 42, As Good As It Gets, Jerry Maguire, Fight Club, and the list goes on.

It is with great sadness we have learned that Jeff Wexler passed away yesterday.
Jeff was a highly regarded Production Sound Mixer, and an inspiration and mentor to many of the leading mixers working today. His impact on the sound community will not be forgotten.

Jeff was one of the most highly regarded Production Sound Mixers the film industry has ever known, and was an inspiration and mentor to many of the leading mixers working today. “The Last Samurai”, “Independence Day”, “Fight Club”, “As Good as it Gets”, “Almost Famous”, “Ghost” - his credit list is remarkable. His contribution to the film sound industry, and his unstinting efforts in building a unique film sound community through forums and guilds is immeasurable. May he Rest in Peace.
Was great to meet and re-connect with some of the crew from Selvedge in London last week.
The film has had a really good festival fun, including picking up best Sci-Fi at Phoenix Rising, and will be available to steam very soon.
After years of saying go ourselves ‘we must put sone showreels together’, we’ve finally done that. And built a shiny new website for them.
