Power feed from 2nd base is a great way to get the ball firmly to your SS. Firm feeds are always easier for a SS to transfer/turn. Glove position is key when getting the ball out to avoid the ball getting stuck/throwing off the timing of the play. Be firm/put it on his chin.

With all of the shifting involved in infield play, the traditional double play pivot from 2nd base has changed a bit. The distance of the throw in some instances has become extremely long when positioned deep in the 4 hole. A stronger base is a must to get enough on the DP feed.

Playing with your eyes behind the ball when going to the backhand side is a must. Being able to catch the ball with open/closed hips creates options on tough hops. Guys are getting better/more willing to get uncomfortable while trusting their hands and athleticism.

Front side direction is so important when making plays going to your left. Thought is to square your upper half (shoulders) when moving left. Lower half (hips) when going to your right. By bringing the ball to your throwing side, it gets shoulder direction on-line to throw.

Right idea here but once the runner is beyond the half way point you have to take the force out. Awkward angle for a SS on that side of the bag. Big fan of TA's athleticism. Still lots of improvement to be made. Miguel Cairo will really help, will be in the GG conversation soon.

Really important for infielders to understand where the glove works best on a backhand. Glove is always in a more natural/fluid position off of our left side. Lower half flexibility/sway is so important. It allows you to move the catch point while maintaining a solid base.

I loved it when my 2B wanted to cover everything with 2 outs. It takes so much pressure off of you as a SS. Not sure why he's not there on this with a RHH up. Played w/some that only covered when shading the middle. Only takes extra effort to be there. Teammate first mentality.

Loved this play as a SS. Pace of ball, speed of runners, game situation all come into play. EZ DP ball but SS chose to cut the run down in the 5th. Runs are hard to come by as the game later. Keeping it a 1-0 ballgame always keeps you one swing away from tying up the game.
