St Mungo’s has issued an open letter, co-signed with 13 leading homelessness charities, urging the Government to rethink its cuts to health-related benefits laid out in the ‘Pathways to Work’ Green Paper, due to be voted on next month.
These cuts will increase homelessness, put excessive pressure on public services and push people further away from the labour market.

The number of people forced to sleep rough in London is still rising.
But this is preventable.
We need a national strategy to tackle homelessness, including more social housing to prevent people becoming homeless & quickly house those rough sleeping.
