Breaking and very sad news -- Sen. Chris Murphy is hospitalized following a stroke, an aide to the Connecticut Democrat confirmed Sunday.
His staff began notifying people Saturday afternoon of the hospitalization and stroke, a person told POLITICO at the time.
“Yesterday afternoon, Senator Murphy started experiencing numbness in his arm while at his son’s hockey game. He was taken to a local hospital, where it was discovered he had experienced a stroke,” Allison Herwitt, Murphy’s chief of staff, said in a statement.
“He was transferred to Johns Hopkins for further monitoring and is responding well to treatment. The doctors are encouraged by his progress, he is awake and alert, and we are optimistic he will make a full recovery,” she added.
Murphy, who is viewed as a potential 2028 White House candidate, has been traveling the country to campaign for candidates, including recent stops in Michigan, Minnesota and Florida. He had been previously scheduled to attend campaign events in New Hampshire on Sunday.

this is insane. Of all the heartless gutless things this administration has done this may be the worst. These people took massive risks to help our military, and were promised asylum in exchange. It is unconscionable.

One thing I’ve learned working in sports is that if fans can find one reason not to go to the game, a lot of em ain’t goin
With Maryland football fans, there's never been much correlation between "I'm not showing up again until the coach is fired!!" and "When I get my way and the coach is fired, I'll show up and give them some energy."

2/ Predictably, his decision to do this by attacking Iran in the spring led more than anything else to the drubbing he is about to receive in the midterms. So he's in a self-reinforcing cycle of self-sabotage through self-soothing.

A reporter just asked Trump about the removal of Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, but referred to him only as "Lt. Gen. Sylvia."
"She’s got problems," Trump said. "She’s gonna have big problems. We’re very much looking for leakers"

Republicans might have an argument on this Dan Sullivan thing if they had not done the same thing over and over the past few cycles.
And it is the media's responsibility to ensure people know that is the case.

This whole thing is just so disgusting.
Take a 130 year old public park, the running road, the mini golf, the playground, the cherry blossoms, the golf course, all of it, and turn it into one thing almost nobody asked for.
This was never just a golf course. It was a park for everyone, built for everyone, for over a century. People have said, over and over, at hearings, at rallies, in court, that they don’t want this. And still they push forward.
This park belongs to the people. It does not belong to one man's ego. So disgusting.
I mapped out an eight mile bike ride to see the damage Trump has done to DC, including Lafayette Park, Kennedy Center, Reflecting Pool and East Potomac Park. It's the Tour de Destruction joeflood.com/2026/10/28/tour…
