En septembre 2019, Kasper Dolberg, l’attaquant danois de l’OGC Nice, découvre la disparition de sa montre de luxe dans le vestiaire du club. Il s’agit d’une Patek Philippe estimée à 70 000 euros. L’enquête interne révèle que le voleur n’est autre que Lamine Diaby-Fadiga, un jeune attaquant niçois de 18 ans et coéquipier de Dolberg !
Le jeune joueur finit par reconnaître les faits, présente ses excuses et rembourse son coéquipier. Mais le mal est fait : le 1er octobre 2019, l’OGC Nice résilie son contrat. Diaby-Fadiga doit alors quitter le club et tenter de relancer sa carrière ailleurs.
Cette affaire fait grand bruit dans le football français. Formé à Nice et considéré comme un jeune espoir, Diaby-Fadiga voit sa progression brutalement stoppée. Il rejoint ensuite le Paris FC, avec l’espoir de repartir sur de nouvelles bases. Une montre de luxe lui aura finalement coûté sa place dans son club formateur et terni son image auprès du public.
