I grew up Muslim and I no longer follow it.
The Muslim Brotherhood controlled the government that almost killed me for leaving Islam.
I know Islamic governance when I see it. The words, the liturgy, the psychology, the dress code.
Elsayed is the epitome of what I left behind.

Breaking: I've uncovered an apparently unreported 2012 Al Jazeera article coauthored by Abdul El-Sayed that praises the Muslim Brotherhood's electoral success in Egypt and portrays the Islamist movement in remarkably flattering terms.
At the time, the Brotherhood-led bloc had just won approximately 47% of Egypt's parliamentary seats, while the ultraconservative Salafist Al-Nour bloc secured another 24%.
Together, Islamist parties controlled roughly 71% of the elected seats.
Yet El-Sayed and his coauthor (a Harvard scholar, because of course) enthusiastically described Egypt's political transformation as looking "more promising than ever."
They also argued that the Islamist parties' electoral successes reflected their domestic platforms and "histories of social justice" more than popular support for their Islamic ideologies.
El-Sayed wasn't merely celebrating the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak. He was expressing optimism about Egypt's political future AFTER the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafists had overwhelmingly won the parliamentary elections.
This is how Christians are treated in Muslim countries. Yet Muslims in Christian countries cry racism unless we elevate them to the highest position of power in the land.
Why wouldn’t we want large numbers of them in our countries?

It's absolutely shameful that so many leftists have joined Islamists in attacking an amazing young British Christian simply for exercising his freedom of expression. I, like many others, proudly stand with @YoungBobRB against these attacks.
What has happened to Great Britain? The nation of Winston Churchill, who stood against tyranny when Europe was on its knees. The nation of William Shakespeare, whose words conquered the world without firing a shot. The nation of Isaac Newton, whose genius changed humanity's understanding of the universe. The nation of the Magna Carta, which helped lay the foundations of liberty and the rule of law.
This is the Britain that gave the world courage, literature, science, parliamentary traditions, and the principle that freedom is worth defending.
And now? The Muslim Brotherhood, whose Palestinian branch gave rise to Hamas, has networks and influence in Britain, while a young British Christian expressing his beliefs faces intimidation, hostility, and, at times, police intervention.
How did a nation that stood alone against Nazi tyranny become a place where its own young people can feel abandoned for defending their beliefs?
Britain did not survive the Blitz, defeat fascism, and defend its liberties across generations just to surrender its confidence to extremism and ideological intimidation.
Where is the spirit of Churchill? Where is the courage of those who stood beneath the bombs and refused to surrender? Where is the pride of a civilization that taught generations that liberty comes with responsibility and courage?
Great Britain was not built by people who surrendered to fear. It was built by people who refused to bow before it.
@YoungBobRB, brother, from the other side of the world, know that you have family, friends, and people who admire your courage.
Keep going. Keep speaking. Keep defending your freedoms, your Christian heritage, and the finest traditions of British civilization against extremism and backwardness.
Never confuse the loudest voices with the soul of Britain. That soul still lives in those brave enough to defend its liberties.
God bless you, and God bless Great Britain. 🇬🇧

Speaking of the Muslim Brotherhood, on January 28, 2011 — the very day the Brotherhood officially joined the Egyptian revolution — Abdul El-Sayed urged Obama to back the demonstrators, calling them “freedom fighters"

I was usually the ONLY WOMAN in my convoy in Afghanistan. Not only was I a military police team leader, I was the one who searched the Afghan women.
Those women told me things their husbands never would. They also told me things they wouldn't tell their husbands. They let me hold their babies and talk to their kids. These women had NO voice in that country. No rights. They were men's property.
40 months in a Muslim country taught me this: Sharia doesn't "coexist." It TAKES. And here in the USA, it will take from women FIRST.
Ladies, it starts with your voice. DO NOT hand it over. It wasn't very long ago at all that we fought for and WON our freedom here in America. We owe it to our daughters not to go backwards. 🇺🇸🪖

What happened in America is what Islamists call “Ballot-Box Jihad.” Muslim Brotherhood mosques in Michigan and elsewhere urged people to vote for candidates because they were Muslim, not because of their policies, qualifications, or whether they were Democrats or Republicans. This is where democracy becomes dangerously vulnerable: when the religious authority of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood is used to dictate political loyalty, the ballot box risks becoming an extension of the pulpit. Islamists decided who would represent you in Congress.
The long voting lines of Muslim women and men: what should have been a celebration of democratic freedom was instead a religious Islamist mobilization. Those voters were pressured with a cruel message: vote for Abdul El-Sayed or risk being branded a traitor to your faith.
When a vote becomes a religious obligation, democracy loses its freedom. When a mosque dictates political allegiance, conscience becomes a hostage.
America was built on freedom of religion, not freedom for Islamist jihadists to command the ballot box.
A democracy must protect the right to worship God and, equally, the right to vote without fearing those who claim to speak for Him.
