Wrong again. And Iconoclasm is Condemned Heresy but the most important point is that those who conflate the fullness of “worship” with Dulia are missing out on True Worship (The Eucharist). Scripture is clear that (1) not only should the Faithful revere Sacred Relics/Images but also that (2) bowing alone is not Latria. If our interlocutors showed the Blessed Virgin Mary a mere fraction of the reverence that Saint Gabriel and Saint Elizabeth (while filled with the Holy Ghost) show Our Lady in Luke 1 we would not have to rehash these errors every day on Xwitter. (1) Veneration of Holy Objects and Images. Exodus 25:18-22 “Make two Cherubim of gold.” Numbers 21:9 “Moses made a bronze serpent, and set it up as a sign.” 1 Kings 6:23-29 (walls of temples covered with carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers). 1 Kings 7:25-45 (more bronze images inside the temple: sea, oxen, and lions). John 3:14-15 “And just as Moses lifted up[e] the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” 2 Kings 2:13-14 (Elisha uses Elijah’s Mantle to part Jordan River) 2 Kings 13:21 “as soon as man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived.” Matthew 9:20 (Miracle of Bleeding Woman) Acts 5:14-16 (Peter’s shadow falls on sick; they are healed) Acts 19:11-12 So extraordinary were the mighty deeds God accomplished at the hands of Paul that when face cloths or aprons that touched his skin were applied to the sick, their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them. John 3:14-15 “And just as Moses lifted up[e] the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” (2) Bowing is not Latria. Genesis 18:1-3 (Abraham bows before Angels). Joshua 5:13-15 “While Joshua was near Jericho, he raised his eyes and saw one who stood facing him, drawn sword in hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you one of us or one of our enemies?” He replied, “Neither. I am the commander[e] of the army of the Lord: now I have come.” Then Joshua fell down to the ground in worship, and said to him, “What has my lord to say to his servant?” The commander of the army of the Lord replied to Joshua, “Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so (Joshua kneels before the angel “in worship”). Joshua 7:6-9 “Joshua, together with the elders of Israel, tore their garments and fell face down before the ark of the Lord until evening; and they threw dust on their heads. “Alas, Lord God,” Joshua prayed, “why did you ever allow this people to cross over the Jordan, delivering us into the power of the Amorites, that they might destroy us? Would that we had been content to dwell on the other side of the Jordan. Please, Lord, what can I say, now that Israel has turned its back to its enemies? When the Canaanites and the other inhabitants of the land hear of it, they will close in around us and efface our name from the earth. What will you do for your great name?” 1 Kings 2:19 “Then Bethsabee came to king Solomon, to speak to him for Adonias: and the king arose to meet her, and bowed to her, and sat down upon his throne: and a throne was set for the king's mother, and she sat on his right hand.” (Solomon bows to the Queen Mother). Apocalypse 3:9 “Behold, I will make those of the assembly of Satan who claim to be Jews and are not, but are lying, behold I will make them come and fall prostrate at your feet, and they will realize that I love you.” (The Lord will make our enemies genuflect). 1 Kings 1:23 “And they told the king, saying: Nathan the prophet is here. And when he was come in before the king, and had worshipped, bowing down to the ground . . . “ 1 Samuel 28:14 “What does he look like?” asked Saul. “An old man is coming up wrapped in a robe,” she replied. Saul knew that it was Samuel, and so he bowed his face to the ground in homage.”

Veneration: profound respect or reverence shachah: to bow down humbly beseech, do reverence Exodus 20:5 5 You shall NOT BOW DOWN TO THEM (shachah) OR worship them How ever you try to spin it, it's still Idolatry.

Today we remember the Presentation of the Lord in the temple, 40 days after His birth, and the ritual Purification of Mary. We also celebrate Candlemas, a tradition dating back to the 8th century. ow.ly/ZOr250Y5yYt

I will write something longer about this today but you should take heart in knowing after tomorrow you will be closer to the spring equinox than you are the winter solstice. It’s actually worth celebrating, and February 1 is important in many traditions. 🕯️

“All past persecutors of the Church are now no more, but the Church still lives on. The same fate awaits modern persecutors; they, too, will pass on, but the Church of Jesus Christ will always remain, for God has pledged His Word to protect Her and be with Her forever, until the end of time.” Saint John Bosco Ora Pro Nobis

Blessed Sebastiano Valfre, also known as Sebastian Valfrè, was a priest and member of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri, born on March 9, 1629, in the humble village of Verduno in the Piedmont region of what was then the Duchy of Savoy. Coming from a poor farming family with several siblings, he grew up amid the demanding routine of rural labor, yet felt an early calling to the priesthood despite family resistance due to his needed help on the farm. Through perseverance, he pursued studies in nearby towns and eventually in Turin, where he joined the Oratory on May 26, 1651, and was ordained a priest the following year on February 24, 1652. He later earned a doctorate in theology in 1656. Valfre dedicated his life to pastoral ministry in Turin, earning the title "Apostle of Turin" for his tireless service to the city's people over nearly six decades. He served as provost (superior) of the Turin Oratory starting in 1671 and revitalized the community, which had been nearly extinct when he first arrived. Deeply devoted to Saint Philip Neri as his model of priestly life, he focused on preaching in public places like marketplaces, visiting hospitals to console the sick with the sacraments and encouragement, hearing confessions with profound insight, and assisting the poor, widows, orphans, and prisoners. During crises such as the famine of 1678-1680 and the prolonged siege of Turin in 1706 amid war, he worked heroically to relieve suffering. He was especially known for his love of teaching catechism to children, gathering large groups every Sunday at midday—a practice he maintained for most of his life. He also produced extensive writings, including an influential catechism that remained in use for generations, filling twenty-two volumes in total. Despite his public prominence, Valfre cultivated personal humility and discretion in his charity. He once privately acknowledged struggling with a naturally strong temper, yet through consistent small acts of self-mortification and reliance on grace, he achieved remarkable patience, kindness, and equanimity. He declined an appointment as Archbishop of Turin, preferring the simplicity of Oratorian life. A devoted follower of Marian piety and associated with devotion to the Shroud of Turin, he was described by contemporaries as having "Paradise in his eyes." Blessed Sebastiano Valfre died peacefully in Turin on January 30, 1710, at the age of eighty. Miracles were reported even before his burial, and his incorrupt body now rests in a silver urn in the Oratory Church in Turin. He was beatified by Pope Gregory XVI on August 31, 1834, and his feast is celebrated on January 30.

Update on my dad: He is in hospital. They finally excluded all other causes and now know that my dad's issues are caused by his immunotherapy. He is currently recieving treatment to counter these issues. It was such a relief and miracle to hear my dad say he was hungry today and to witness him finally eat! The new treatment seems to be working, thank God! Things are still touch-and-go but we are hopeful 🙏 Another good news is that my dad may actually be able to continue with the immunotherapy (which has proven quite effective for his cancer) but he will have to add a couple of other medications to prevent these side-effects from occurring again. We will probably know more about everything tomorrow. Fighting cancer is such a rollercoaster. His cancer has shrunk significantly but his immune system and other organs are definitely affected by his treatment. We are basically trusting God and taking everything one step at a time. I can't thank you all enough for your prayers! I am convinced that they sustained us and helped us figure out what was happening and how to treat it. God bless you all! I'll try to check all your comments now, so that I can like them. Know they are all very much appreciated 🙏
Please, please, please pray for my dad. He is doing very very poorly. They will probably admit him to hospital today. Pray for his body, pray for his soul.

“The root principle of birth-control is unsound. It is a glorification of the means and a contempt of the end; it says that the pleasure which is a means to the procreation of children is good, but the children themselves are no good. In other words, to be logical, the philosophy of birth-control would commit us to a world in which trees were always blooming but never giving fruit, a world full of sign-posts that were leading nowhere. In this cosmos every tree would be a barren fig tree and for that reason would have upon it the curse of God.” Archbishop Fulton Sheen

Yes - that is precisely Nestorian because you are separating Christ’s Divinity from His humanity through birth. And I’ll reiterate, every single time I have encountered to resistance to calling the Blessed Virgin Mary by her Dogmatic Title “Mother of God” I have encountered Nestorianism, Arianism, Tradicianism, or some type of Trinitarian Heresy.

In I Tim 2:5, he is called "the man Christ Jesus". But I never have heard anyone calling Mary the "Mother of man" as a title. What would I say that is a complete idea? That Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ, who is God and Man in One Person. Precise!
