🚨 Excited to share that our paper “Byte by Byte: Unmasking Browser Fingerprinting at the Function Level Using V8 Bytecode Transformers” has been accepted at ACM CCS 2025! 🎉

ALT As part of my internship at Google, we developed ByteDefender, the first system that applies Transformer models directly to V8 bytecode to detect browser fingerprinting at the JavaScript function level. ByteDefender delivers: 🔹 Function-level precision — isolates fingerprinting functions without breaking legitimate functionality. 🔹 Robustness — resilient against code obfuscation and URL-based evasion. 🔹 Practicality — adds only ~4% overhead to page load time in real-world tests. 🔹 Accuracy — 98.9% function-level detection. This was a wonderful collaboration with Dylan Cutler (Google) and Igor Bilogrevic(Google).

Tech's broken promises: Streaming is now just as expensive and confusing as cable. Ubers cost as much as taxis. And the cloud is no longer cheap. trib.al/RqdwzRI

Ke presented Ibex, an improvement on RTP protocol. Ibex is an ad system that reduces the amount of data
collected on users while still allowing advertisers to bid on real-time ad auctions and measure the effectiveness of their ad campaigns.

@soundarya05 presented TickTock, a novel technique to detect microphone status in laptops. While webcam attacks are somewhat defended with widely available commercial webcam privacy covers, unfortunately,
there are no adequate solutions to thwart the attacks on mics!
