I am genuinely curious to know if there’s any background as to why they changed the Daimons to humanoids in the anime, cus it looks nothing like the mangas design. The mangas design appears in an episode of the anime, so it doesn’t seem like a "it didn’t exist yet" situation

An adaptation being faithful isn't even a particularly strong indicator of quality. Original material can be lacking if it's not well thought out, but it can just as well deliver a fresh perspective on a work if it has a clear creative vision behind it.
