Vile, bigoted ads are wrong when they’re produced by Lee Atwater and Roger Ailes. They’re wrong when they’re done by Andrew Cuomo’s super PAC. They’re wrong when they’re done by the NRSC. And they’re wrong when they’re done by self-serving opportunists on the far left.

Mayor going out to College Point to play at an empty gym at 11pm, people are like: “why doesn’t he just go to the Park Slope Y?!???!?”
New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and a group of his friends have been secretly using the NYPD Police Academy’s gymnasium in Queens to play pickup basketball — scrambling some operations at the facility. w/ @GrahamRayman & @joeanuta politico.com/news/2026/10/26…

Dear MLB video production crews: Follow the baseball. Show us the game action. Cutaways & alternative angles are very cinematic, but if we don’t see the diving catch, it misses the point. Please & thank you.

lol I’d really love to see how those survey questions are framed. My research says that fans support a hard cap IF savings are passed along to fans in the form of lower priced tickets/concessions/parking.
MLB owners do not intend to pivot from their insistence on a salary cap and floor no matter who wins the World Series, via @JeffPassan. Their stance is “backed” by surveys that show fans want one.

Max Fried’s double-balk move reminds me of a lefty I played w in college, a freshman who used to brag about his amazing pickoff move, which he knew was a balk “but they never call it on lefties” … until he got called for 2 balks in his first start of the season.

Day baseball is one of the greatest things ever. Day playoff baseball is even better. Any day I can watch 3+ intense playoff baseball games is an excellent day.

Everyone whining about MLB playoffs during the day, which is one of the greatest things ever. As if we don’t all somehow make it work for March Madness.

Ronny Mauricio has less than 25% as many career ABs as Baty and Vientos, who both have 1,300+ ABs and career OPS well under .700. Mauricio is also a better defender than both.
Keith Hernandez on Ronny Mauricio: “I really think that [Ronny Mauricio] has been misused and abused by the Met organization. I think he has a world of talent.”

A 9th grader who does not know basic algebra is not going to succeed at an SHSAT school. Eliminating a test for 3 high schools is not going to solve the problems facing a public school system that serves 1 million kids.

Trump and Mamdani are the same height, but Mamdani is 5'11" while Trump still claims to be 6'3".
.@NYCMayor Mamdani (D) and President Trump speak on the White House press ban: Mamdani: "I told the president that we're gonna have all the members of the press here on the lawn." Trump: "They said they were gonna boycott me but they never boycott me."

If you're wondering why Alonso got the reaction he did from Mets fans, this is why. Not sure how you factor this in to a WAR stat or a spreadsheet, but there's value in building a roster of players who are great at what they do AND also act like this ...
Pete Alonso met up post game with Mike, Nick & Chris - the trio of Mets fans who caught his 300th career home run. They exchanged the ball for signed baseballs, bats and Alonso to sign their jerseys. Pete brought beers and offered the trio tickets to games in Baltimore

NY Sports History: On April 27, 1982, returning to Yankee Stadium as a California Angel, Reggie Jackson hit a home run off Ron Guidry, inspiring fans to give him a standing ovation and chant against owner George Steinbrenner. "Steinbrenner Sucks!" youtube.com/shorts/roxtnAUpv…

This is how you handle it …
"Because it was him, it didn't bother me. It just shows how much he was loved, it just shows how great of a hitter he is and how much he meant to this organization" - Kodai Senga on if he was bothered by the Citi Field crowd cheering for Pete Alonso's 300th homer

Local governments must be transparent with the public before they sign up for AI surveillance technology. Axon, of TASER infamy, is contracting with ICE & across New York State. In the age of AI, the public needs to have a say before we lock ourselves into a dystopic future.

It's much easier for politicians to grandstand about an evil exam than it is to do the hard work to fix an education system that is failing so many young people. Also, if a school specializes in rigorous math, a rigorous math exam seems like a straight forward admissions tool.
