Metro Schools working with NDOT to improve traffic at new high school in Bellevue

Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) said they are working with the Nashville Department of Transportation to better control the traffic light at the entrance and exit to the school.

Another way to think of the Superdome deal: Nashville is spending more than $1.5 billion in land to get out of a *maybe* $150 million renovation obligation. Giving away a dollar to save a dime.

The Titans were never going to exercise their rights to develop the Sports Authority acreage. They don't have the capacity, especially with its infrastructure needs. Metro would get that land back as it is today, if only it waited until 2028/2039 when the lease/extension ends.

If this was discussed during negotiations with the state it was never disclosed to councilmembers or the public. If it was not discussed it is proof that the state is not a trustworthy partner in this deal.

The Senate is hearing a bill that would reconstitute the Nashville Airport Authority to give the state six seats and the city two seats. "It's like getting into a fight with your wife and burning down the garage," Sen. Jeff Yarbro, D-Nashville, said in opposition to the bill.

Residential lockdown. Where and how Nashville has - and hasn't - grown over time. We used to grow broadly and iteratively densify. But since the 1980s we've halted growth in most areas, fueling further sprawl and concentrating growth in small swatches of land.
