I feel like Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith have taken pretty similar paths as players.
Both made a big leap in Year 2 but neither one has been able to turn that into breaking out as a star, top-tier edge and are more role players right now that flash here and there.

You’re going to see a lot of fear-mongering about next season over the next few weeks/months. I would just ignore it all. Nobody knows what is going to happen.

Avant wont call people out by name publicly because he’s a first class individual. But Avant was on that 2011 Eagles team when Jason Babin cared only about getting 18 sacks, to the point that he would abandon his responsibilities and leave his teammates hanging out to dry. This is a bad sign!

Just rewatched the #Eagles loss to the Cowboys. Here are my takeaways.
- Jalen Carter got washed out on the first play of the game, and Jordan Davis got washed out on the first drive on a 15-yard run. That continued throughout the game. I'd be more worried about Davis because he hasn't made a huge impact this year. I feel he's taken a step back after showing a lot of promise last year. Carter needs to be more consistent, but we have seen the high-end upside in that Jaguars game. How the Eagles can get Carter to play at that level consistently?
- Landon Dickerson cleared Quinnen Williams out of the way on Barkley’s 29-yard run to start the game. He did a decent job as a run blocker. But his pass protection is an issue.
- Eagles wide receivers Makai Lemon and Darius Cooper did a good job of blocking on some runs. Lemon had the best game of his career. He created consistent separation. I was impressed by him.
- It was a bad day from the defense, but Quinyon Mitchell was awesome again. Pay him what he wants. He's still playing at an All-Pro level.
- Riq Woolen was bad. He's been solid this season, but he missed too many tackles and got beat in coverage way too often. Could the Eagles trade him before the deadline?
- Cooper DeJean continues to struggle. What's up? His play has declined, which is tough to watch because he was so great the last two years.
- I love watching Markel Bell drive people off the ball and he's a really good athlete. I'm curious to see how he continues to develop at right tackle.
- The Eagles linebackers struggled. All three of them: Zack Baun, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Jihaad Campbell. They couldn't get off blocks and missed tackles.
- The edge rushers were not good enough. Dak Prescott had a clean pocket for most of the game. Maybe with another week of them getting healthy, Jonathan Greenard and Jalyx Hunt will get going.

Eagles' Defense All22 Thread vs. Cowboys. Buckle up. 1) The Cowboys absolutely destroyed the Eagles with Jumbo (6 OL) personnel. The Eagles had no answers all night. Some of the gaps were as big as you will ever see at this level.
No single player or reason made it so bad. But we have to start with the defensive tackles. The Eagles invested a lot of money in Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, and they couldn't get off blocks at all. The Cowboys often got to the Eagles' linebackers (who also didn't play well) because the defensive linemen couldn't do anything.
Just look at the gap between Davis and Carter here. You can't win like that. Fundamentally, the run defense was just terrible. At all levels.

A lot of talk about Cooper DeJean struggling as a corner.
Not enough talk about how bad he is coming from depth as a safety against the run. This film is rough. He is not a good safety.

I’m not saying this is the worst tackle attempt I’ve ever seen, but it’s definitely top 3
Seriously, I would not boo Jeffrey Lurie, regardless of the score of tonight’s game. It’ll happen, maybe, but it would be undeserved. He’s the best owner the franchise has ever had. Maybe the best any Philly franchise has ever had.

Jalen Hurts is still the only QB in #NFL history to win the Super Bowl since signing a $50+ million a year contract.

The Jalen Hurts situation is obviously the most serious and egregious. But reports suggested Lane Johnson wanted to retire this offseason because of his mental health issues, but the Eagles brass talked him out of it. Dickerson and Jurgens came back too soon from injuries and it’s derailed their careers. Something isn’t right when it comes to how the Eagles approach player safety. Questions need to be asked regarding the Eagles medical staff and top decision makers.

The #Eagles have needed backup QBs a lot in the 21st century but they haven’t needed one to start this many games so early on in the year since Randall Cunningham went down in the season opener of 1991
The last backup to start 8+ games in a season was March Sanchez in 2014
It will be Tanner McKee, Joe Milton, and Cole Payton the rest of the way

The amount of injuries the Eagles are dealing with on offense right now are staggering, be the offense is an abomination. I’ve never seen a team more committed to doing what it is terrible at and avoiding the things it is good at.
There isn’t a single coach on the offensive side of the ball whose job should be secure.

It’s worth noting that Dickerson only found out he was going on IR because he was on WIP, and one of the radio personalities told him. It seems obvious there is a fracture in the relationship. Hate to see it, because Dickerson is a great player and even better person.

The Eagles are No. 32 in the yards in the second half this season. But consider this: The difference between them and the No. 31 team (Minnesota) is greater than the difference between the No. 31 and the No. 12 team. That's how far behind they are!
