This is such a better example of “welcome to the NBA” from Joakim Noah than a superstar dunking on him. I wanna hear about how Chris Kaman busted his ass so much more.

Every day, a little bit of what we all love about the game erodes away. The powers in charge take a tiny bit more but soon there won’t be anything left to take.
News: Five institutions of the Philadelphia Big 5 - Drexel University, La Salle University, University of Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph's University, and Temple University - announce a round-robin scheduling format for men’s basketball beginning in 2027-28. These institutions are united in their commitment to preserving the history and enhancing the future of the Philadelphia Big 5. The round-robin format represents a renewal of the competitive spirit that has defined the city’s college basketball landscape for more than 70 years, while also preserving the future of a partnership that is distinctively Philadelphia. "There's a sick part of me that is kinda happy we got out butts kicked...so now the film will do the talking not the coach. Well, the coach is gonna do some talking tomorrow too." Here's how Tom Izzo ended his press conference following MSU's 78-70 loss to UConn in an exhibition game:

Cool managing. Pat Murphy has players clock in to remind them of work ethic and the "privilege of playing baseball."

This quote seems to be melting the internet so I think the key is talking through what this actually means. When constructing an offense as a coach, you should not be trying to CREATE midrange shots. Obviously though, sometimes the defense wins. And the best bailout can oftentimes be a midrange jumper. So if you’re a player (particularly shot creators who spend a lot of time on the ball), yes it’s valuable to have a midrange jumper. And yes, if you’re training players who are on-ball players, you should be helping them with that shot. It IS really important for those moments where offenses need bailed out. But midrange jumpers shouldn’t be the goal of what a coach is trying to create offensively.
UNC coach Michael Malone: "We do not want to be a mid-range shooting team. Worst shot in basketball... We want to live at rim, the free-throw line, and get up a lot of threes."
