The transformation of plastic waste into building materials gives a final destination to plastic waste and creates opportunities for the community in low-income countries

"We have to stop talking about plastic pollution as if it were confined to our oceans and start talking about global plastic pollution harming life everywhere."I would add we should stop focusing on just plastics + recognise this is a *pollution* - and hence a waste - issue.

Thank you Marcus of @5gyres for this thoughtful opinion piece on plastic pollution and a global treaty to address it, which I hope the US can support! washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

To celebrate hitting 80,000 followers today, I thought I'd raid my back catalogue of restorations to share a couple of my favourites. This one was taken in June 1917 and shows a group of young Senegalese soldiers resting in Alsace, France. It is 103 years old and not colourised.

Plastic pollution remains one of the major pressing environmental issues today. Visiting @name_recycling, a local company committed in collecting and recycling plastic waste in #Douala. #environment #plasticfree #COP26

9/ And finally out in Feb 2020 to see the start of the @WasteAid project in Douala Cameroon. Sad I won't be there to see it to completion but in good hands with the legendary @PierrePlastic. It's been an honour and a blast, thanks @WasteAid!
