The council holds the purse strings of the county government. It votes on and controls the outcome of the budget, which means the mayor has passed a budget that the Republican majority likes and would vote for. So, you’re upset with Republicans like everyone else, and it’s time they no longer control the budget.

We’ve literally had Democrats in almost every leadership position across the county for 20 years. Tax Spend Tax Spend Tax Spend

It's time for progress at Salt Lake County, for over 15 years Republican leadership has led to closed doors on families and bad policies. We can have new era of democratic leaders who believe in a better tomorrow! Vote for the Democratic County candidates and FLIP Salt Lake County blue!

A little good news from Salt Lake County 💕✨ I’m proud to have co-sponsored a bipartisan moratorium on data centers, and I’m even happier that we passed it unanimously! We’re protecting the places we love before we have to fight to protect them. Very excited about the public process next. 💕
I’m proud to co-sponsor this bipartisan moratorium on data centers in unincorporated Salt Lake County. We’re protecting the places we love while we hear from residents and put stronger protections in place.

RIP Beef forever before-2026
Trump announces he will eliminate regulations on beef processing amid multiple food-borne illness outbreaks: "I am authorizing legal documents to be drawn in order to allow Farmers and Ranchers to be given the right to PROCESS THEIR OWN FOOD. This should move quickly."

I mourn the loss of three wildland firefighters who gave their lives battling the Snyder Fire near the Utah-Colorado border this weekend. Emily Barker, 38, of Clinton Township, Michigan. Nick Hutcherson, 27, of Glendale, Arizona. Sydney Watson, 26, of Warrior, Alabama. Three heroes from three different states who came to protect our lands and our communities. We are grateful for every man and woman who runs toward the fire so the rest of us do not have to. Our thoughts are with their families, their crews, and all who loved them. May each of us do all we can to prevent more tragedies like this through our own acts of service and to remember those who sacrifice everything to serve us.
Three firefighters died and two were injured while tackling fires on the Colorado-Utah border, the U.S. Wildland Fire Service reported Sunday. The firefighters had been part of an interagency response to the Knowles and Gore fires on Saturday. ksl.com/article/51567335/

All candidates who ran for CD1, ran on progressive talking points. Any democrat deciding to now be a moderate, is a democrat that will not be re-elected. Progressive won on Tuesday in Utah and Progressive will flip this state
The contrasting primary results have intensified debate over whether the party's future belongs to democratic socialists or pragmatic moderates. | By @epitts103

Ben McAdans says the way forward isn’t “anger.” The hell it isn’t. Righteous anger drives protest movements. And changes the world. Why did he even show up at Pride last weekend? It’s not just a party. Trans people are under attack, and I’m angry about it. Why isn’t he?

Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in an effort to halt the unlawful decision to convert a warehouse into an immigration detention facility on the City’s west side without following federal law. The proposed ICE facility is a dire threat to the very essence of our community values. It would overwhelm the infrastructure in the region, harm area businesses, and strain public safety and public health resources. The federal government did not notify nor consult with local officials, including myself. saltlakecounty.gov/newsroom/…

You are missing the point, Senator. Our Constitution and the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights make clear that government doesn’t take sides between different religious beliefs and doesn’t interfere with the free exercise of religion. Maybe you should stress those principles on this 250th anniversary of the United States instead of trying to fit in as a Christian Nationalist.
If only we, as Latter-day Saints, belonged to a church that had “Jesus Christ” in its name and His image in its logo … Oh wait
