The joy of watering late in the evening - Elymus canadensis 'Icy Blue ' glowing last night.

The slugs have finally found the leaves but thankfully there are flowers to distract! Hosta sp TCM12-838. Compact and normally intact...

A little bunch of annual Briza maxima has popped up in the Verbena 'Bampton' growing in the path as you enter our sales area. Perfect combo but you need to be ready to thin both out as the selfseed!

Veronicastrum virginicum 'Fascination' and Rubus ulmifolius 'Bellidiflorus'. Probably not an ideal combination but they blend quite well!

Starting to look at what I'll be taking to the @GreatDixter Plant Fair this weekend - mostly grasses this time I suspect but there will be all sorts of other bits too!
Happy to take orders but I'll need them by close of Wednesday so we can get them picked on 1/2
Thursday (I leave Friday morning). Order online, choose to Collect and enter Dixter plant fair in the delivery instructions box.

Sanguisorba stipulata ssp riishirensis
Greyish foliage and these rich red flowers almost concealed by the white filaments.

Commelina dianthifolia caught our eye as we started a stock take yesterday. Website all updated at last!
These stunning blue flowers are only open for the morning but will worth it. 20cm.

Dierama ambiguum seedlings - look like they have some D igneum in them to me. Lovely plants anyway, flowering at about 50cm.

Still busy sending mail orders out. This was a satisfying little one to pick and pack - Begonia grandis 'Heron's Pirouette' and 'Sapporo', better to send them before they get too tall! All packaging paper and cardboard.

The rather delightful Viola corsica. Gently selfseeds, ideal for cracks in paving or gravel. We have a nice batch of young plants nearly ready to go, they'll be added to the website in a week or two.

The rarely seen Heuchera 'Ruffles' makes an excellent, long lived garden plant. Pre-dates all the modern coloured leaf forms and outlives most of them!

Knautia macedonica old red form looks at home with the warm golden flowers of Melica persica. Both wanting full sun and drained soil.

Cortaderia selloana 'Icalma' catching the low sun. Early flowering so avoiding most weather damage, dwarf and with blue-grey leaves. Very close to 'Patagonia' but they are different.

Eryngium planum 'White Glitter' is a bit different to the usual blues. Could be useful in some places - and still like by the insects.

The amazing Paris polyphylla has more flowers than before so hoping for more seed this year. First seedlings pricked out last year, four years after sowing!

Drizzle coating on the stunning Erodium manescavii yesterday morning. A really tough plant, self seeds a little. Bigger than some geraniums!
