Why do we keep having to have ‘strong feelings both side’ debates on this? Plastic grass shouldn’t be on sale until the plastic grass industry comes up with a real solution for disposal, potential flood risk, micro plastic pollution and the fact that most British bees burrow.

The world produces twice as much plastic waste as two decades ago.
The amount of it that is recycled is about 9%.
12% is incinerated and 79% has accumulated in landfill or the wider environment.
That means nearly all the plastic that has ever been produced is still with us.
