My 5 takeaways from UCLA’s 82-50 win over San Diego: Joe Philon as the X-factor, Trent Perry at the point, Eric Dailey Jr. setting the tone in the 2nd half and how the Bruins scored 82 on 34.9% shooting. 247sports.com/college/ucla/a… @Bruin247Sports

The Atlanta Dream are heading back to Atlanta down 3-2 in the WNBA Finals and facing elimination to the Golden State Valkyries.
We throw it back to when Cynthia Cooper sat down with us to recall how the Houston Comets were facing elimination in the 1998 WNBA Finals at home to the Phoenix Mercury, and how her and the team clawed back to tie the series and ultimately win their second straight championship.

👀 UCLA GM Max Feldman on offers/NIL in 2026:
“The most important thing with an offer is when you’re offered money. It’s not when your’e offered a scholarship you can post on Twitter.”
UCLA GM Max Feldman explains why an early scholarship offer may not mean what families think it does.
In today’s NIL era, he says rankings and social media announcements can distract from development—and the real offer is when actual money is attached.

A representative from Jaylen Brown’s team told ESPN that reports that he demanded a trade or presented the Celtics with a list of demands are “10000% a lie.”
Brown never requested a trade to Milwaukee, the representative said. After the deal fell through and Boston informed him he’d be traded, his only request was to have input on his destination.

12:30 pm is tough
After a weekend of nonstop frantic discussions and negotiation, Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be played Thursday at 12:30 pm at 17,000-seat State Farm Arena in Atlanta, sources told ESPN.
The Atlanta Hawks-Cleveland Cavaliers game that night will move back to 8 pm to accommodate the doubleheader, just as the Hawks did for Game 4. This allows a potential Game 7 to remain scheduled for Halloween at Chase Center in San Francisco.
All three Finals games in Atlanta have required hurried adjustments to the schedule at State Farm Arena. It took collective efforts from the WNBA, NBA, the Hawks, State Farm Arena, Dream, Valkyries and broadcast partners to figure out the best course of action again.
By moving the game earlier in the day, the WNBA avoided a scenario where a potential championship game was played inside the Dream’s home arena, the 3,500 seat Gateway Center.
The other option under strong consideration was moving Game 6 to an open date at State Farm Arena on Friday and Game 7 to an open date at Chase Center on Tuesday, November 3.
