Would have, would have, would have. At this point, they could tell us every single player would've gotten a completely unique game, with 17,000 branching paths and no two playthroughs alike, and people would still be expected to take their word for it. Apparently, the only thing that would've had more branching paths than the game itself is the list of excuses they keep pulling out of their asses.
Mass Effect 5 would have let players generate timelines based on their choices in previous games pcgamer.com/games/mass-effec…

seeing so much bioware cope in the timeline. this game would have sucked complete ass and you know it.
I can finally talk about Mass Effect Universe.
Since Bioware closed I can now reveal that I was part of the Mass Effect Council, saw what BioWare was building, and provided feedback during development.
• Set 600+ years after the Reaper War
• You play as a customizable N7 agent
• Instead of being a walking gun rack, you're a cross between John Wick and James Bond
• Shepard's legacy preserved, regardless of your ending
• A galaxy divided into three major factions
• Humanity, Krogan, Batarians, and more allied together
• Council races forming their own alliance
• The Geth emerging as a third superpower
• A galactic Cold War instead of another Reaper style invasion with a shadowy adversary
• Geth-built megastructures
• Connections between the Milky Way and Andromeda
• Experimental technology implanted in you as a unique point of difference
• Hacking and manipulating the environment
• See through walls, identify systems, remotely trigger hazards and more
• Handcrafted missions like ME1-3
• But with Hitman-style freedom in how you complete them
• Brutal close-range executions
• Squadmates who can clash with each other
• Romance wasn't being sanitised
• Liara returns - now an incredibly powerful Asari Matriarch
From what I saw, BioWare was making Mass Effect for us, the fans, not for people who don't exist.
It looked incredible.
And now we may never get to play it.

My favorite aspect of Mass Effect 1 that the sequels don't capture is the vast and lonesome splendor of the games' setting. In ME1 you fly to the furthest reaches of space and drive for miles across magnificent empty worlds that might never be traveled upon again. It's beautiful.

It's interesting to see the contrast between Ace Combat 8 confronting the entire legacy of the series at once to soar to even higher heights while Resident Evil 9 is mostly "remember this?" and then proceed to play like a worse version of better RE games.

I can tell that 90% of gamers would be alright with playing AI generated games because theyre already playing shit like "Brotato" and "Megabonk"
