Self doubt and inner conflict aren’t excuses for poor performance in a fight. They’re weaknesses that you have to overcome.
The story has repeatedly made this clear.
Sanji’s mental struggles aren’t meant to excuse his performance. They’re meant to highlight his growth.
His fight with Killingham shows his growth from someone that suffers from self-hatred to someone who overcomes it.
That IS the power up.
His struggles at the beginning of the fight are what force him to confront his sabotaging mentality overcome it.
You cannot dismiss those struggles when they’re the reason for his growth and awakening of Conqueror’s Haki.
Replying to @KingDeluxeee @ClairvoyantEye1
But the fact is simple:
He didn´t struggle BECAUSE of Kilingham and that is the point.
He struggled because of HIMSELF.
He nerfed himself with "no dodging" and selftalk/daydreams during the fight.
Kilingham was never the problem and that is the point mate.

This post sums it up:
Whether you guys like it or not, Sanji will ALWAYS be Zoro’s equal; you can post all the agendas you want, but that will never change, Oda couldn’t make it any clearer.

Oda’s too easy to predict 🎯🎯🎯
Great development for Sanji, it only seemed natural that he’d synthesize his flames with Conqueror’s Haki.
#ONEPIECE1196
Sanji ponders about “tightening his defence” this chapter, the last time he gained increased durability, he could withstand hotter flames.
Beyond refusing to get hit, Sanji’s Conqueror’s Haki will naturally lead way to greater defence, and thus a new flame 👀

Shanks vs Mihawk in the eyes of Shankstards
Brook improved by combining his Devil Fruit with his sword. That makes him a stronger fighter who uses a sword. It does not turn every fruit technique into pure swordsmanship.
The same kanji can be used for sword skills in different contexts.
The criterion for pure swordsmanship is blade technique, form, timing, and cutting precision as the core of the style. When the main power comes from a Devil Fruit or racial ability and the sword is mainly the medium, the series has already treated it differently, as with King and Law.
Mihawk having better sword skills than Shanks uses that framing. It does not require that every Haki application Shanks uses must be pure sword skill, or that Brook’s fruit techniques redefine the category.
The distinction holds based on where the primary power comes from.

Fried WorstGen 😭👌. Lol, he has somehow managed to completely erase what actually happened in Elbaf and reverted right back to those same dumb arguments like it's 2017. One thing our community collectively has to agree on is One Piece is NOT Vagabond
Zoro realizing his sense of self and consciously infusing his swords with Conqueror's Haki is the first step toward being officially acknowledged as the Vice Captain.
Zoro is already known throughout the world as the No. 2 of the Straw Hat Pirates. That's nothing new, but I think his post-Elbaph bounty poster could potentially include "Vice Captain" as his title, alongside Dai Kengo (Great Swordmaster), instead of just Kengo.
I already made a post about this in the past (linking it below), discussing the potential situation regarding Barto. The Red Hair Pirates destroyed the Barto Club. Even though it was Barto's fault, and he himself said that it had nothing to do with Luffy and that they chose to follow him on their own, they are still part of the Grand Fleet of a Yonko crew.
If Luffy does nothing about what happened, it could be seen as a sign of weakness. I think this is where Zoro will step in.
When Shanks and Luffy eventually meet, I think the Barto incident will come up, especially since the Straw Hats have already read about what happened. Luffy may be unable or unwilling to confront Shanks over it, but Zoro will, and we might even see a clash between the two.

Love how Zoro's first 1v1 in the story vs Cabaji, establishes that To Zoro, no matter what tricks and abilities you use that don't involve swords, as long as you're considered a swordsman, He'll defeat you😍
But It's so long ago, some might have forgotten it
