Im sorry what @JoStevensLabour @AnnaMcMorrin @SDoughtyMP @ABarrosCurtis As someone who is applying to do their PhD at @cardiffuni and needs disabled parking, surely this cannot be enforced

Cardiff Council’s proposed blanket ban on student parking is easily one of the most egregiously age-discriminatory things I’ve seen in three decades of knocking about universities

We cannot accept SOCSI's assertion that the contracts are not casual as the way that hours will be allocated is casual. It’s like claiming to be 100% committed 40% of the time. 5/

Cardiff UCU has voted to support PGRs in SOCSI* who have had their teaching roles and future opportunities taken away, a year after a long battle for PGR contracts was won. SOCSI wants to replace with casualised postdoc roles on the same pay instead of supporting PGRs. 1/

Despite calls to reinstate PGR tutor opportunities in @CUSocSci, the School stands by its decision to rob their PGRs of income and experience. Interesting that less than a year after securing proper contracts the School no longer wants to employ PGRs to teach...🤔 🧵1/4

I'll allow you through to a job at the University if you can answer my riddle: How can you get teaching experience for a teaching assistant role if we don't allow you to teach while doing your PhD? @CardiffUni @CardiffSOCSI got a solution?
