In 2003, Chinese astronaut Yang Liwei became the first person from China to go to space.
He was alone aboard his spacecraft when, at one point during the mission, he suddenly heard what sounded like someone knocking on the outside.
He described it as "someone knocking the body of the spaceship just as knocking an iron bucket with a wooden hammer." When he looked through the window, he didn't see anything...
After returning to Earth, he tried to recreate the sound for technicians, but he couldn't.
Astronauts on two later Chinese missions reported hearing the same knocking.
