Yesterday while driving & listening to the book "When Abortion was a Crime," I was suddenly struck by a familiar story, one my mom told me years ago about a young lady who lived in her dorm who died of illegal abortion. The highlighted text is exactly what my mom had told me.

The MA asked if I was pregnant or breastfeeding.
Me: We are expecting via surrogate + I know it sounds crazy, but I’m prepping my body to induce lactation.
MA: Congratulations. That is wonderful.
