Congratulations to Jayden Miles on setting the new school record for career rushing touchdowns.
The previous record stood for 30 years and was set by former Gatorade National Player of the Year, Travis Minor ’97.

On this day in 1963, @CurDogFootball earned one of the most iconic victories in school history, defeating Istrouma 15–12 for the Bears’ first win over the Tribe in 27 years. Catholic built a 9–0 lead before Istrouma rallied, but facing 4th-and-20 with just 1:48 remaining, Ferrell Guillory connected with Don Plaisance for a 45-yard touchdown to lift the Bears to the historic upset. 🐻🏈

It has been a banner couple of weeks for former Catholic High golfers at the college level. In mid-September, 2025 CHS graduate David Marsh struck first by winning his first college golf tournament at the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tennessee. Marsh, a sophomore at Southeastern Louisiana, shot 4 under par over 54 holes to defeat 68 other college golfers and take home his first individual title.
It didn't take long for 2026 CHS graduate Drew Prieto to respond to Marsh's big win. In only his second start of his freshman year, Prieto tasted victory for his Sewanee Tigers in the Whitworth Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay in Washington State. Chambers Bay was famously host to the 2015 U.S. Open and Prieto shot 4 under par over 36 holes to tie one of his teammates for the medalist title.
CHS Golfers currently playing college golf:
'23 Carter Schmitt - University of Louisiana
'23 Walter Anderson - Furman University
'23 Grant Fisher - Flagler College
'25 David Marsh - Southeastern Louisiana
'25 Nyles Williams - Southern University
'25 Jack Ritter - Millsaps
'26 Drew Prieto - Sewanee
'26 Max Kimble - Millsaps
