Happy National Flag of Canada Day! 🇨🇦
On February 15, 1965, Canada’s new flag flew for the first time on Parliament Hill, taking its place among Canada’s most iconic symbols.
Dive into the flag’s fascinating history!

Very happy to see that enrolment in my course APSC 519 System Identification has grown from 10 last year to 55 graduate students this year!
I look forward to providing an enjoyable learning environment to students and to motivate data-driven approaches in control engineering.
This is the second year in a row that I spend Christmas in beautiful Spain 🇪🇸, and enjoy the warmth of its people and culture.
Wishing everyone happy holidays!
I finally visited Alhambra (Arabic: الحمراء) in Granada. It is a magnificent complex, with so much to see and admire.
It is great to find in Cordoba different statues of Andalusian scholars (e.g., in medicine and philosophy). Below are pictures of statues for Averroes (Arabic: ابن رشد), Maimonides (موسى بن ميمون), Ibn Hazem, and Mohammad Al-Ghafiqi.
I am glad to spend a few days in the charming city of Cordoba, and to learn about the contributions of its people - of different religions - to advancing society. Cordoba was a major city in Europe and in the Islamic world.
Happy Arabic Language Day!
I truly enjoyed going to the Biblioteca Nacional de España in Madrid last year! Was definitely worth the visit!
Excited to start my holidays in Spain 🇪🇸, and to explore its rich history, culture, and beauty; today making a stop at the fascinating Royal Alcazar Palace in Seville!
Proud to see my alma mater @UAlberta being ranked 20th for Automation & Control in @ShanghaiRanking! Indeed, it is a great institution for high quality research and education in this field.
I am honored to receive the @ISA_Automation Excellence in Education award. This award is a great source of motivation for me to continue building educational platforms to train and mentor future generations of automation and control professionals, through teaching and research.
