I am so so sorry to hear that the brilliant Herman Daly - founding father of ecological economics - has died. His paradigm-changing work flipped my little econ head inside out & inspired me to write a book on rewriting economics… Here are just some of his big ideas 1/n.

Glad to hear of a one-off contribution of €1k for postgraduate students #Budget2023. However this doesn’t compensate for the stipend which has not kept up with inflation or the cost of living.

Thanks Andy. I agree that scientists generally have high levels of trust by the public (as exemplified during Covid pandemic). The trust is hard-earned by being independent and objective and needs to be protected.
