I have an AI & Blackness paper that discusses some of that. Lots of ways to think through various AI systems and antiBlack logics (including generative AI systems)

Can be helpful, but the factors at play would be the search itself & the committee (both of which can tell you what might be salient to those making the initial decisions), as well as where the position is (dept/school/college). Even better to make impact clear in the statements

For Fall 25 I have a (likely TA funded) slot open for an Ind Eng PhD student in “Human Factors”). I want someone who can think through cognitive processes and social structures (racialized) and computing (but you can have some but not all of that then learn) . Please pass along

Yeah, it’s an interesting place to be most def. I never really did the whole pick up your whole life thing like ppl do and I’m lucky to be in one of those fields that pay you ok comparatively (and I was broke before…so didn’t know to ask for more…)
